Hi, Ange, When you say 'Natural White, is it a true white or an off-white? Are there any bits of 'silver' in the rooms already, such as lamps or picture frames? I might hold off your rod decision until you find the curtains that you like, as the fabric may influence your decision. Good luck!

Would you and your husband consider another type of window treatment for room darkening? I don't think there is anything you can do to make these drapes look better when they are closed like this. Something like blackout cellular blinds could be a better choice.

Can you get a picture with the curtains pulled back and daylight coming in? The ceiling light is extremely harsh and unflattering, and makes it difficult to get a feel of things. One thing for sure I'd consider is painting the walls a softer off-white color. It would really compliment the room and features better than bright white, I think. With the busy patterns/tones of both the curtains and your flooring, yes, I’d go for a neutral, solid, soft rug with a bit of texture. UPDATE: Thank you, everyone, for all your help!! I mostly went shopping in my house, and changed things up a bit: 1. moved in blue-ish rug from desk area; got rid of ugly beige ombre rug 2. moved in dining room chair I wasn't using anyway; it's not awesome but it's better than the folding chair ;) and my mom made the quilt when I was a teenager, so... 3. moved in blue blanket from den 4. framed/hung watercolors my MIL gave me for Christmas -- not exactly what had been envisioning, but I love them and they are free ;) 5. new: big monstera plant from Trader Joe's of all places; it surprisingly seems pretty happy here 6. new: blue and white duvet cover (Overstock); blue bedskirt (Macy's); blue geometric pillow (HomeGoods) Eventually it would be nice to add an upholstered bench under the pics, and get bigger bedside tables + lamps -- but I don't want to spend the $$ on that right now. Overall, I'm happy with the room, and appreciated all the suggestions!
