Would this bed be too big for my Master Bedroom?
Comments (6)A blank slate is always a challenge to work with. It is hard to say as you've given no measurements other than the height of the headboard. I'd suggest you measure everything out and draw out in graph paper if you don't have a software design tool at hand. Include everything you wish to put in your room, whether planned or existing furniture. While the bed looks massive you also need to factor in the height of the mattress and boxspring as well as your vision for your room. What can be very helpful is to look at design magazines to find an inspiration of what you want your room to look like and work towards that. I'm always a sucker for a good sale, but as my DH always tells me, there is always another sale and don't be rushed into purchasing something just because the sale is "ending today." It may end up being a most expensive mistake if you are not sure of your choice....See MoreCurtain ideas for my bedroom
Comments (7)First of all, what an awesome view! You said you're thinking of a film for privacy - I assume you mean some kind of exterior reflective surface? Obviously you don't want to frost these windows and lose the view. If Annie is right and this is a level ceiling with slanted windows, I also recommend going parallel with the ceiling. There are insulated curtains that can buffer the cold from the windows. However, for them to be really effective you will want to keep them closed most of the time. Find out if there's a draft from the windows - they may need to be resealed. If they're just cheap single-pane, there may not be much you can do about it. But if these are modern, double-pane windows, you shouldn't get a lot of cold air coming off them. It may be they weren't insulated correctly when installed or there is a leak. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!...See Moreplease help me style my new construction master bedroom!
Comments (5)These are some pieces I had saved as inspiration, I think this is the look I am going for like a distressed white paint with a natural wood top. I was thinking a wide chest of drawers On the bigger wall leading to the walk-in closet, with the TV on top of that. I hate exposed TVs but idk what other choice I have. (TV is for my spouse). Then in the smaller wall leading to the walk in, I was debating a taller chest of drawers, or perhaps the vanity angled in the corner and a lingerie chest type set of drawers next to it for my make up? I currently am using an IKEA Alex drawer set for my make up and perfume and it’s very functional but I want to replace it with something that matches better. Or, I was thinking of angling the vanity and one of the back corners? Not sure if that would work though. I was picturing nightstands below the window but still on the hunt for these as I want them to look a little different than the rest of the furniture, still matching but not identical. Perhaps a white weathered wood with a mirrored top?...See MoreI would like to decorate my bedroom using these curtains and bedding.
Comments (2)Keeping with a monochrome drape will allow the bed clothes to shine. You could do the dark navy, in a velvet even, or a silvery gray ( but not a matte gray)....See MoreJanelle H
