I also don't think grommets would like right in your space. I also wonder about curtains if you're leaving the little one in the corner "uncurtained" (I don't think there is space to put curtains on it anyway). Either black or gold would work in your space. Here are some poor attempts at mocking them up for you. Personally, I like the gold because it is at the same level as the gold chandelier. Make sure you get rods long enough to hang the curtains outside the windows and they are 2.5x the width of the rod length so they have enough heft not to look fake. As Beverly noted, some pillows with color and pattern would do wonders for your room. All the upholstery is currently the same hue and value. Or add a nice throw that's not mid-tone gray.
