Help with Family/Living Room Furniture

Any suggestions, sketches appreciated. Having decision paralysis in deciding what furniture to look for, rug, wall decor on tv wall, window treatment ideas. Privacy not an issue.

What is your style? you seem to have nicely framed art or photos on the wall, are you going for more contemporary? How many people will be using this room? If you can post a floor plan with all dimensions showing windows and entrance to the room that would be great.

Take advantage of the rail as space for a sectional, two trees and a floor lamp in the bay window, two swivel chairs, a large round ottoman, two side tables/lamps, and a bookshelf in the far corner. And a rug.

Here's our previous living room...cream painted paneling & ceiling, cream cotton damask armchairs, camel herringbone sofa, two Chinese-style bamboo side chairs, cream sheer drapery with deep hem-stitched hems at windows, brass lamps, a few pieces of neutral green pottery, small oriental rug, bare medium cherry-stained oak floors, and that's it. And this is our current (very different!) front parlor about two minutes after we moved in...haven't photographed it as it is now, but not a lot different. Yellow-toned cream walls (BMoore Linen White), same armchairs, same coffee table with different top, different oriental rug in shades of camel, rust, palest steel blue, and a wee bit of black. Added color with copper silk Roman shades in tops of windows.

Help with new furniture & placement for living room and family

Well we have bought the craftsman and there are lots we like about it but i mainly want to create a foyer so it doesn’t walk straight in to living room. it would only let me load 3 images. The wall to take down or half with some craftsman type pillars is to the right of the front door or left from the fireplace right by the front door on first image.

A much larger rug that goes under the front legs of your chairs would be great, plus it wouldn't move around. Floor or table lamps make a seating area more welcoming. You could use a large low coffee table. You have room over the fireplace for a bold artwork - remove all the little ornaments. You have wall space for a wide tv console, with doors for concealed storage. I'd keep those pillows for holiday display, and have something more elegant for day to day.

Does a painted accent wall work for the TV wall? Then just minimal decor is needed there. Maybe paint the room.

Your art gallery wall seems a little high...for behind furniture, it does not necessarily need to be at eye level...especially for art photos that can be enjoyed while seated. Clear the sofa by 4-6 inches.
