If the post before mine stays: This post is about Photoshop. No one is asking for anything. Ever. Especially not through the way they dress!

I certainly hope that is a photoshop and not an original picture, it is downright sickening. First thing I thought of was the pictures taken of Holocaust prisoners from WWII.

Its not photo shopped, its how her skirt lays.

I agree with @maddielee. When I first saw the picture, I thought that there was no way her legs were that skinny, but then I looked at the picture carefully and you can see that it is an optical illusion because of the drape of the skirt.

I realize that her skirt covers part of her leg, but her knee and ankle look weird.

As though she's not emaciated enough! Her hands look huge, danlging at the ends of her bony arms.

Now that I've taken the time to study the picture closer, I can see that it is the drape of her skirt. But I agree with Chisue, her hands look out of proportion to those bony wrists.

Even though I now know she isn't really that bony, I still find looking at the picture almost painful.

Charlize Theron? As they say, I wouldn't throw her out of bed for eating crackers.

Critical much? Our gorgeous teen is 6’, with similar legs and hands. She is healtyj and doesn't diet. we’re happy she is not self conscious.

Had to look that up - and it is Charlize Theron wearing Christian Dior. That skirt is covering her legs in a weird way - pretty sure it's not edited. There are better pics out there - that one looks like an outtake. I think she's looking very good at 48.

And FWIW, young women who model in that category are naturally built like that - it's generally not cultivated. They're very tall and lanky - and often are teenagers as well.

If it was a young man, would people be critical of his body, I wonder?

Oh I'll bet those are extremely expensive shoes - 4 inch heels are basically torture devices, IMO.

Petalique's link makes the claim that high heels never caused foot problems. Tell that to foot surgeons trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to repair the feet of women with huge bunions and other deformaties, caused by years of supporting the body entirely on the balls of the feet. This isn't only due to compressing the toes into points, but to forcing the weight forward.

Females have been hobbled for centuries. Witness 'foot binding', a deliberate deformation, supposedly for another reason, but that conveniently leaves a girl/woman dependent, unable to walk any distance -- much less escape.

I wouldn't mind looking like her, she's fabulous.

I've seen her in movies, etc. and I don't remember her looking so skinny. I don't understand how people can find that look attractive. If you ever had a loved one suffer from Anorexia, you wouldn't want to see anyone looking like that.

I'm not seeing 'emaciated'. I know what emaciated looks like. She's tall and slim and her legs look well-muscled to me in that second photo above.

And bunions aren't caused by improperly fitting shoes, or pointy toes - tho those can aggravate them for sure, and do cause a number of other issues. Bunions are hereditary.

I believe that some footware can certainly contribute to foot problems.

I ne er liked such retrictive shoes, nor the expen siv e gear women were pressured to wear and spend buckets of money on in the conventional workplace. It used to irk mw as early as my late teens and rwenties. <—- is it twentys or twenties.
