Thank a lot for all the advice! I will check out BM Sheep’s Wool. The concern I had with White Dove is whether it might end up looking yellow in the evening. The room faces west and the sun is mostly filtered by huge evergreens bordering the fence. So what little light that gets through most of the day is reflected and greenish blue. And around sunset the room is filled with an orange glow. Also most of the day, lights need to be on in the living / dining and kitchen. I am not sure what the current colors are but I find the yellow tones overpowering. I prefer a crisp neutral airy look myself. If I had to choose, I’d tend more towards cooler tones than warmer tones. Attaching some more pictures taken around noon. The first two with the lights off.

OK, I primed some wall sections and painted new samples. First is Silver Feather, which is a gray but looks light green on my wall (I’m ok with that.). Next is Sea Salt (at wall edge) which still looks darker than expected. I think I like the silver feather for the painted part of my kitchen, which is going to get a redo with new countertops, backsplash and some kind of white on the cabinets. Would running this color throughout the kitchen and the family room be too much/too boring, do you think? Any suggestions for a complementary colors?

He needs a new twin bed for sure and as for wall color keep it neutral since his favorite color will change many times over the next few years. That dresser in front of the wall heater needs to be moved , it is always best to have nothing in front of a window that kids can climb on and maybe just put that in the closet. I think the wall color you have works well Get some fun removeable decals all about dinosaurs BTW all 3.5 yr boys love dinosaurs and I love the bedding. A littl bean bag in a gree for a spot for him to sit and could you show the whole room , IMO he needs books

If you're set on laminate, and it's purchased already(which it seems it is?)-I'd install it, and see how you feel about the kitchen then. I like the current cabinets' stain, I'd want to make sure before I paint. It's several more days, all in all. Will give better idea of colors too. I'd also love to see more of the layout (does the kitchen end where the fridge is?), and adjacent space-some kitchens lend themselves better to two tone look than others, and it'll be easier for us to see a bigger picture involved. Bigger picture-more sound advice. In my experience. Always check future cabinet doors' colors vertical to the flooring, not on top of it..the light will hit it differently when they'll be installed, changing the color. If decided to move away into gray/blue/white scheme..I'd go for deeper blue. Theoretically. I think white might be too stark, and will be harder to match with white appliances. I know there is a question whether won't seem too dark-well it depends on how much light your kitchen gets. Or how much light can be added, if it doesn't get enough. Stainless steel appliances would work nice-but knowing how everything is made nowadays, I'm also "it stays if it works" kind of a person, when comes to appliances. even if not my preferred color. Again, personally would hold off painting for now, would appreciate seeing more pics. And..I don't know whether my opinion matters, and for sure you didn't ask for it..but your kitchen is not hideous. It might not be someting you prefer, or choose youself, which I fully get..still, not hideous.
