Building a cold frame, can I use frosted glass?
Comments (2)Hi Bill, I was thinking the same thing about it being okay, but not really ideal. I am going to pass on them, because I don't want to build it and then have to build it again with something else. I am sure I can find something else to use, just have to be patient.. Thanks for the input....See MoreDo you REALLY like your clear glass shower?
Comments (33)Does anyone have pictures of using curtains outside the glass enclosure? Curious how it looks. Has anyone used frosted/ matte privacy film and then removed it because you were in a rental or selling? Curious how long it lasted, did it get dirty or yellow, how did you clean it, and how well/ easily did it come off? We are facing the same dilemma regarding clear shower glass enclosures for 2 different showers. I don't want to see any family members showering or be seen. I don't think it's sexy when people actually really clean themselves with a washcloth/ loofah, shave themselves, use a foot-scrubber, etc. People need privacy to clean their private parts. I love how people say lock the door etc. The reality is all families are different with different routines. There are bathroom stress times with larger families; especially in homes with only 2 bathrooms. A cheap way to clean glass shower doors is to dilute DAWN dish soap liquid in a spray bottle. Spray glass and you can use a wet paper towel to rub it all over the glass too. Let it sit 10 to 15 minutes. You can either use a squeegee to get it off or rinse it off and then squeegee the water off or use microfiber towel. Dawn will not cause any damage to the glass or stone tile. I have seen people adding vinegar to the solution; the amount of vinegar added lessens the wait time and can add a pungent smell if lots of vinegar is added. Vinegar should not be used if you have any natural stone tile. Note: This Old House uses Dawn dish soap with vinegar & baking soda to clean grout lines and then re-seals the grout....See Morefrosted or rain glass on shower
Comments (32)sure thing. so i went back to the shower door place and pressed them on what other samples they had. i was shown "stipolite". kinda liked it as far as the obscurity goes, but it's too greenish for me. i asked if they had a low iron stipolite and he said no. anyway, when i got home he called and said he found something called "krystal serenity". so i went back and it seems perfect. its low iron, and was told it was real easy to clean since it didnt have all the grooves of the "rain glass" or "bubble" or"monumental". its a real simple look. he's coming on mon. to measure. BUT...now that the shower is finally grouted im actually considering the clear again. guess i wont know my final decision until i actually order it. One thing the guy told me that got me thinking: when my son is in the shower, the glass will fog up anyway! lol i didnt think of that. then i'm thinking about all the above posts about getting pretty pump containers for the soap and shampoo or that dispenser that sue b wrote about. and yes, i'll have to get a white loofa. really, though, i still haven't come to a firm decision. if any one out there has seen the krystal serenity, and has an opinion, please let me know. thanks...See MoreClear glass bath shower screen for tub
Comments (11)That's not my bathroom. I have a regular shower door - a big one - that attaches to a narrow fixed panel, which, in turn is attached to the wall stud. I linked to a photo on the Bel Pre Glassworks site. As pharaoah stated, the panel is fixed. Note that there is NO overhead bar. Glass panels are popular in Europe. The ones that I have seen (and gotten water splashed everywhere but - seeming - inside the shower) are hinged at the wall and have a silicone sweep at the bottom. I think that OP needs to find another glass specialist, one who specializes in shower doors....See MorePjcat77 B
