Sliding glass bath tub doors
Comments (17)What I did was use old shards of stained glass, some are even old 70's lamps dissasembled and cut up, and I tumble the glass in a rock tumbler sometimes, to get the sharp edges off,(but this can be done by scraping the glass edges together to get the edges dull) and I use clear silicone adhesive to glue the peices to the shower door, leaving a space for grout. then I grout it just like you would tiles on a backsplash or tub surround. I have even bought stained glass off ebay! And also have smashed up glass plates, bottles to use in this fashion....See MoreTub/shower combo or tub and shower stall
Comments (15)I know I probably went overboard, but I have been searching Houzz for shower/tub combos for myself if I decide to go in that direction. Most of these pictures have Master Bath titles - they tend to be small houses or apartments in large cities where space is an issue. They all have a generous sized tub. A few have extra shower bling and even a separate tub filler. All of them have material choices and the level of tile work that you see in a master bathroom. I'm sure that if I searched Houzz I could find just as many, or even more, remodels of small master baths where they have just built a walk in shower. I think the decision to do a shower/tub may be a personal choice because they want a soaking tub - since they are titled Master I'm assuming the bath is not the only bath in the house and they could easily just go with a shower. Comments (8)We only have space for a very small window, but it beats no natural light at all. Ours will be very small and clear glass because there's no way anyone is seeing into it, but for the other bathrooms that don't have so much privacy I'm going to use an obscure glass similar to the "Minster" pattern in the link. I wish I could fit a full-sized window, I would go with clear glass and sheers. To be honest, I could find happiness in just about anything that wasn't glass block. Sometimes I feel like the only person alive who can't stand that stuff. Makes me feel all Miami Vice-ish, like I need to don a white silk pant suit and peach cami. I tend to think it doesn't get more timeless than "plain old glass". You can always apply a treatment or film if you want something different without the commitment. Comments (16)@pennydesign, This question is based on another plan that I'm considering where I would keep a bath/shower combo in my main bathroom, but then add an esnuite to my master bedroom with a small dedictated shower: In this layout, I would only have room for a 15" deep vanity if I want 26" between a standard 32" tub and the vanity (so every inch counts). I could move the wall behind the vanity as a last resort if needed, but I'm trying to find a way to work within the existing footprint (which is why I'm looking at a 28" wide tub). Another alternative is to put the tub along the left wall with the window, but I'm not too keen on this idea because: I don't think I'd like to shower in front of a window that faces the street, especially at night time :S I don't think I'd want to deal with cleaning waterproof blinds that get wet all the time I don't really like the idea of frosting the window so that I can't see out any more...See Moresuero
