Sliding glass bath tub doors
Comments (17)What I did was use old shards of stained glass, some are even old 70's lamps dissasembled and cut up, and I tumble the glass in a rock tumbler sometimes, to get the sharp edges off,(but this can be done by scraping the glass edges together to get the edges dull) and I use clear silicone adhesive to glue the peices to the shower door, leaving a space for grout. then I grout it just like you would tiles on a backsplash or tub surround. I have even bought stained glass off ebay! And also have smashed up glass plates, bottles to use in this fashion....See MoreKohler Greek tub as tub/shower combo
Comments (18)Wow, thanks bumble doodle! Tt is great to know that the tub works well as a shower. We are tall too--at least most of us (two of my teenage daughters are twins and one is 5'2" and the other is 5'10", so maybe the short one complains a bit but that's ok, since she complains about everything!) We are getting the non-jetted version. Also, I am hoping that building the deck at the front will help with the water spray. I am pushing the tub back into an alcove under the window the long way (so we get into the tub at the 32" side rather than from the 48" side) and we are trying to go without shower doors in order to make the bath feel open. With a deck, we buy a few more inches of length to help avoid water on the floor. We may not succeed and will put a panel on if we have to. Any thoughts on this?...See MoreWhich tub filler for my huge tub and Moderne tile?
Comments (18)Hey breezy! You and me both! LOL I had a different rainhead when we remodeled Mbath at previous house. It was also large and I loved it! Though when I washed my hair, I sometimes used DH's. ( I have very thick hair) We are probably still a month away of being in. The latests setback was the stair color. I told the GC I wanted kind of pecan colored to match my floor. Some how I ended up with BURGANDY! So, they were stripped and sanded and now 2 1/2 weeks later since starting the staining, they are the correct color. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out! Good luck on your faucet choices! Comments (15)Hi mh_bath, I wasn't entirely sure you are asking me, but since mine is the only pic that shows the horizontal overflow, I'm going to guess yes, so here's the answer: The overall length is 6'3". I am not sure whether using the horozontal overflow (rather than some other design) increases the depth or not... but it's a really nice deep soak. You can check specs for water depth; I do recall that this tub had a deeper maximum fill than many others I looked at. We set ours in a mud bed for stability and insulated all around it and it's wonderful... very solid feeling and keeps the water warm a looooooong time :)...See MoreBryan
