Comments (4)I'm in agreement with you that for your situation something of low contrast would be best. You could have the shutters more or less match the house color (or even go ligher, say a cream color) or a soft green with yellow tones to it. I would let the landscaping provide the color (and I'm so hoping you're not doing grass in your tropical environment) and let it be the lush counterpoint to your cool-looking light colored house. I think it would be beautiful....See MoreHelp me choose exterior paint color for our siding

Comments (8)The advice I have seen would be similar to this: the garage should not be the focal point but rather, should blend in. So you would select a color that would cause it to disappear against the siding material. The front door should be highlighted either with color or interesting features such as attractive planters, lighting, etc. Pretty sure most advice would call for selecting one “visually heavy” material (either brick or stone) but not both. And I believe they would recommend not having the stone facade run up toward the roof of just one area (because it’s a visually heavy or grounded material it should stay low to the ground). These are suggestions I have read over the past couple of months and learned from reading various books. I’m not a pro or a designer....See MoreWe need help choosing exterior colors for our house in Seattle
Comments (10)you already have the dark windows, so that's good. do a medium gray roof. that color will go w/everything. Do you like dark? if you did the dark siding and added some wood composite siding, it could look a bit more modern. I notice you have some cedar up under the roof eaves. that would be cool if you could do it elsewhere on the home. similar home style with a darker green siding and the brick lighter gray (btw, these all have the stairs like you have. check out some of the landscaping around them wood doors, and all the siding running the same way. Another gray with shingle siding. arbor over garage. cool landscaping here's a before and after where they painted the brick and did the black windows and added some wood siding accents...See MoreDenise
