Errant_gw- If you mean water depth I think it's going to be close to 16" deep to the overflow drain. I'm 5' 8" - if I'm estimating right, when my shoulders are under water my knees will only be out an inch or two. annabee4- Glad to help. My bathroom is scheduled to be done the end of the month. My nephew has the Maxx Optik 6636 F 66" by 36" by 24" freestanding soaker tub on order for their bathroom reno. Search for it in Houzz Photos. It will be several weeks befor the install. Very sleek looking. The pop up drain, drain kit and taps are sold separately. It will cost more if you want more options. He wanted only the soaker tub. It might be worth a look. He does not want the floor mount taps and this F 6636 tub has a wider deck on one side to mount your taps on the deck similar to this.............................

Hi Jed: I have 2 freestanding tubs in my house (no issues getting in and out and I’m no spring chicken!). They are: Master En-suite: Fleurco Aria Voce Petite (I’m only 5ft tall) and it’s shorter at 55”: https://fleurco.com/bathtubs/voce-petite; Guest En-suite is Maax Louie at 58” long https://maax.com/en/product/louie-5829_106384/. The only thing I don’t like is the position of the drain (dead centre) - didn’t think of it at the time even though I sat in both models in the showroom (which is very important) but when you slide down to fully emerse, sometimes your bottom hits the pop-up drain and the tub begins to empty - am used to it now so it’s not an issue and I enjoy a soak in my tub every day. Another thing to think about is whether you have room to stand it far enough off the wall to access for cleaning the floor around, if not, many companies (such as Acritec) make tubs that are called semi-freestanding. They give the same design effect, but are attached to a wall. Lastly, for the tub filler, whether wall mounted or freestanding, get one with a hand held wand - makes it easy for washing hair and cleaning the tub! Hope this helps.

There are several thing to consider if you are a bath person: the size of the seating area - I have found that a lot of these tubs will have different seating areas based on the slopes of the sides- you want to be able to stretch out a bit; next is the depth of water - what's the point of a soaker tub 24" high that only gets a water depth of 14 or 15" ? A little higher is better; next would be the slope you are leaning against - I have noticed that less expensive tubs don't have the nice angle to recline and be comfortable with a proper lumbar support ( I would look at more expensive tub that discusses that and see what sort of angles those tubs have, then compare to the ones you are looking at ) .
