I half-watched it on the plane out to Honolulu. I didn't find it at all fascinating. My opinion matchhes the OP's. I think that age can be a factor. There are only just so many themes for stories. By the time you are a Senior you've seen countless 'takes' on every theme. I require better writing and acting than this movie had to become invested in what should have been an interesting real-life story. Too much adolescent angst. Maybe the real-life circumstances were too thin to spin into a 'tale'. A movie doesn't have to be 'artsy'. We just dragged ourselves through highly acclaimed, excruciatingly vapid film by Francis Ford Coppola: "Tetro". The plot had great possibilities, but they came to no good end (or beginning, or middle).

I saw it. I agree that one girl was the best part of the movie (she played Megan). It was "meh". If you ask me, it seemed like a chick flick that was written by a guy, to make it a chick flick he wouldn't hate to watch. Plus, a BIG peeve of mine.....scenes that were in the commercial and the trailer were NOT in the actual movie. AARGH! Dances.

Yep - I felt old and fat after watching the movie too. But I didn't feel any urge to update my wardrobe - I think it's because there was way too much focus on shopping just for shopping's sake, product placement and absolutely horrible fashions throughout the movie. I did love the beautiful blue coat Miranda wore in one scene- it might have been Chanel, I kept trying to decipher the initials on the scarf. I did feel fat too - but I thought Sarah Jessica Parker looked too thin, especially in the arms and even the white dress she wore appeared too large in the bodice. It was rather odd. But I loved the friendship they shared and the energy of the city. And I enjoyed the movie so much I was even able to ignore some of the plot lines that just didn't seem to ring true. It was really an enjoyable movie and they did a wonderful job of transitioning from the tv series to the big screen. Now what did you think about Carrie's - uhh- it was unusual - hair accessory?

I love that movie. I watch it every time it comes on. I saw it in the theater with my mom. I think I ran into a girlfriend and her mother leaving the theater. We all four cried during the getting ready scene. Just kills me to listen to slipping through my fingers. I love it so much and it makes me so melancholy, and so proud... all at one time. That song is hard to feel.
