Before I opened your post, I thought, "Well, it'd make me feel frumpy". Had to laugh when that was exactly what you said. I haven't seen it yet, but have seen enough clips on the talk shows to remind me I ain't young or built right!

Yep - I felt old and fat after watching the movie too. But I didn't feel any urge to update my wardrobe - I think it's because there was way too much focus on shopping just for shopping's sake, product placement and absolutely horrible fashions throughout the movie.

I did love the beautiful blue coat Miranda wore in one scene- it might have been Chanel, I kept trying to decipher the initials on the scarf.

I did feel fat too - but I thought Sarah Jessica Parker looked too thin, especially in the arms and even the white dress she wore appeared too large in the bodice. It was rather odd.

But I loved the friendship they shared and the energy of the city. And I enjoyed the movie so much I was even able to ignore some of the plot lines that just didn't seem to ring true. It was really an enjoyable movie and they did a wonderful job of transitioning from the tv series to the big screen.

Now what did you think about Carrie's - uhh- it was unusual - hair accessory?

Mcmann, I know what you mean about the white dress. It definitely had some space issues on top. Beautiful dress, though. As for the "hair accessory," I thoroughly disliked it. Didn't like her red lipstick either. I thought she looked much better the first time she wore it, with her hair down and a more natural look. But maybe the more sever look fit better into that plot line.

Yes, it was great to be in the world of their friendship for two-and-a-half hours.

I thought Kim Cattrall (sp) looked fabulous for 52 and I was jealous of her for that, even tho the movie showed more of her than I cared to see in the sushi scene! I think Sarah Jessica Parker looks fabulous in clothes and shoes but never thought she was particularly pretty. Love her personality tho.

I don't feel so bad about my old fluffy frumpy self! LOL

When I see actresses or models that are so put together and glamourous I think of all the work and effort they must have gone through to get to that point. They have to be on very strict diets and can't eat Hot Fudge Sundays when they feel like it or pig out on BBQ Ribs. They have to constantly exercise, probably for hours each day.

They are living in a glass fish bowl. They don't dare step out of the house without every hair in place and looking perfect. I would hate to have to spend so much time on makeup and hair each day, even when I don't feel like it.

Not my kind of life. I'd rather be free to do what I want.

Well, it certainly isn't my kind of life either. But looking at myself at this moment, I have to say somehow the movie (and the show) wouldn't be quite the same if Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda cavorted through New York City dressed in oversized t-shirts, khaki cargo pants and Crocs. LOL

Yes, I thought Kim's body was great for her age. But as Clare says, she undoubtedly worked hard for it. And she doesn't have any children.

I tend to like Charlotte's clothes the best. Simpler, more classic.

The friend I saw it with last night just pointed out to me that "Samantha" was a lot smaller on top in the TV series. So I guess she had some work done. That would explain the perfect form. If so, it's a nice jobÂnothing obvious (or gross).

Didn't Kim Cattrall have breast cancer recently? That may be the reason behind the change in boob form.

I haven't seen the movie yet -- however, I place it in the "Fantasy" category for all the reasons mentioned above, lol.

Yep...gonna feel frumpy if I ever get to see the movie. I did even when I watched the series on TV. I think a tub of popcorn with extra butter will help me get thru the movie. *sigh*
