Tell Us: What Made You Fall for Your Kitchen?
Show the heart of your home some love for Valentine’s Day
Maybe it was during the first dinner party you hosted when the main course emerged from the oven perfectly cooked. Perhaps it was the morning you stood alone at the sink washing dishes and noticed how beautifully the early light filtered through the trees and across the kitchen floor. Or maybe it was after you finally tore down that wall and were able look from the kitchen into the living room. When did you fall in love with your kitchen?
We may not all have the kitchen of our dreams — some of us will be upgrading or even replacing it — but every day our kitchens help feed us, bring us together and make our house feel like home.

Perhaps it’s not the kitchen itself that you love, but rather the memorable gatherings and conversations that take place there. When Connie and Obbie Atkinson, pictured from right with a family friend, renovated their kitchen in Richland, Oregon, they added this breakfast bar to open up the room to the rest of the house. “Before the renovation, I felt like I was completely cut off from the rest of the group,” Connie says. “Now I get to see shiny faces and be part of the fun.”
