The movie is getting fantastic reviews, at least from viewers. My girlfriend wants to see it, too, and we're going together. That reminds me--I should call her to find out when.

It's faaaaabulous! If you're a fan of SATC, you'll love it . . . I went with my DD's on Saturday and it's all we've talked about since ~ and we all want to go again!

I made a deal with my 19YO dtr to go see SATC. We'll wait till the crowds die down-maybe on a Friday morning.

I have never watched any of the series and have been wanting to. I am borrowing my DIL's setsa of the series to watch, by the time I get them all watched the movie will be out on DVD and I won't have to go pay the price, stand in line, etc! I wish I had started the series when it was on, but never got into it...same with grey's anatonomy! I am going to watch that whole series soon too!

I have seen every episode-some of them more than once. I can't wait to see the movie.

I saw all six seasons on DVD a few years ago. I can't wait to see the movie. I would like to see it this week but I know that next week when I am in CA, my girlfriends will want to see it.

OK, here's an addict's confession . . . they have back-to-back SATC reruns on 2 different channels here every late night, so that's 4 different episodes all within an hour. During the commercials, I switch over to the other channel . . . so I don't waste a minute of it, LOL. (And I've already seen every episode many times- yeah, I'm pathetic :)

Glenda, the movie is not a repeat of the series, it just picks up on their stories after a few years of (painful) absence. If you've never seen any of the original episodes, I don't know how interested you'd be in the movie. But for us diehards, it's pure heaven - I could hardly keep from crying many times during the movie, just from the bliss of it all :)

I went this weekend with my GF and her daughters. I absolutely loved the series and the movie. Will definitely see it again!

I never watched the series. Would the movie still be enjoyable for those of us without the background? It's playing at my "cheap night" theater tomorrow.

I heard a news report that said people were going back to see this movie three and four times IN THE SAME DAY, so I guess it is good! I haven't seen it, but a friend did, and she said it was really good.

I am happy to report that the movie was thoroughly enjoyable. We went to the first show of the afternoon and went early because we thought it might be crowded. Turns out there were only about 40 of us in the theater and I wondered if the 3 or 4 men that I saw were eager to be there.

Wildchild - I think you could still enjoy the film even if you haven't seen any of the tv episodes. You might not catch some of the references but it wouldn't interfere with the story. If someone gave you a synopsis of each of the main characters it might help make the viewing a little richer but you wouldn't have any difficulty figuring it out yourself.

I must admit that I was almost expecting to be disappointed. I wasn't sure that the tv show that we watched in 30 minute segments would be able to sustain the same energy and interest in a 2 hour format. But they pulled it off. There were lots of funny scenes that had the audience laughing out loud.

Unfortunately the fashions were the biggest let down of the movie. I think the papers said that Sarah Jessica Parker had 80 costume changes - well that was about 70 too many for me. But on the whole it was very entertaining.

I want to see the movie! And I am going to buy a big thing of extra "butter" popcorn to eat while I am watching it. Hopefully, I can find someone who wants to go with me. I know DH won't.
