Why do we wait so long? Fixing 'broken teeth'.

I often find I have put off a small decorating or home repair task that seems like "nothing", and then when I finally get around to it, it makes such a big improvement I'm kicking myself that I didn't do it sooner.

I call them "broken teeth"--a small part of the overall picture, but having a big impact on how things look.

The other day I painted my front porch light fixtures--something that I have wanted done for 2 years. The lights were not old--they were brand new, but the finish was different than it looked online and they didn't have enough contrast against the brick. So, it wasn't like they looked awful, they just didn't look great.

After painting them, which took all of 30 minutes, I was so mad I had waited and waited.

All fired up, I went into the kitchen and took down the ugly blinds the PO had put on the door and window. Twenty minutes to remove the blinds and spackle the holes. Why did I wait 2.5 years?

Now I am looking at my husband....

Just kidding. Kind of.
