Hello.

I am torn on kitchen faucets. I really love the Hansgrohe, Axor, Rohl, Signature Hardware & Pfister designs. I don’t want plastic or something questionable in quality. I’d like to get the most bang for my buck because I’m unsure if I’ll be selling this house after the remodel. A few questions. I’m interested in Polished Nickel.

What are your experiences with Rohl, and if you can recall, was the faucet manufacturer from Italy or China? Finish longevity?

Experience with Axor/Hansgrohe? Any issues finding matching metal drains? Finish longevity?

Signature Hardware opinions? I have seen mixed reviews. Finish longevity?

Same with Pfister, specifically the Montay faucet. Finish longevity?
Pfister is very affordable but that is what causes me pause.

I’ve read the StarCraft Custom Builders faucet brand reviews but it doesn’t include personal experiences. Any answers would be helpful!

When I put in a house full of Rohl faucets 20 years ago, I believe it was all made in Europe, then also NA and New Zealand. House of Rohl also has Perrin & Rowe, Victoria and Albert, Shaw sinks, Emtek, etc. under that umbrella. My two decades old fancy faucets (I chose a living finish in bronze) are still lovely and have never needed repair or parts. Rohl (as opposed to House of Rohl) is now made both in Europe and China and is now owned by a company that also owns Moen; I don't know whether the quality is still the same.

That’s what I’ve read but because reviews are so mixed, I’m curious if the quality issues reside with the country they were manufactured. If I purchased one made in Italy, for example, they are just faucets that are rebranded as Rohl but they’re made by 3 different Italian companies. Hmm…I’ll have to try & look more into it. Thank you for the info!

We'e in the middle of a similar situation with a wall mount faucet over an undermount sink so, while I can let you know in a few days, I don't have any advice about that. In terms of the showerhead, we just had ours installed at 84" too--our old one was at 72" and was way too short for dh (6'4"). He's loving the height of the new one and I'm fine with it too (5'3"). It does look a little high aesthetically to me but is very functional.

Getting down to the last minute choices of sinks, faucets, etc. Do you have any opinions on quality, replacement parts, etc. for the various brands of faucets, such as Whitehaus, Franke, Rohl, Kohler, Newport Brass. I may be ordering on line without actually seeing the quality, and don't want to be disappointed. I like Rohl's Perrin and Rowe's faucets, but too pricey (champagne taste...)

OOOPS - thanks for pointing that out brickton - you are right. We like the Whitehaus Vintage III bridge: http://products.whitehauscollection.com/whitehauscollection/products/whkbtcr3-9201-bridge-faucets/ We also liked the twisthaus by them, but found the ones without the sprayer seem to be on their outlet page, and that worries me that there is something wrong with this faucet and they are trying to clear them out. Really pretty, ak. Yes, I am very grateful for Moen's genius in coming up with that weight. I was hoping to get the nylon type of hose, did not want the stainless steel type as they are uncomfortable and noisy, but got the plastic. With the weight on it, it's more like the nylon type. It just clips on, easy as pie. Here is a diagram, and faucet depot (has it now for $8.50!
