opinion on light above sink

I had planned to put a recessed can light above the sink. Turns out there’s a joist in the way preventing it from being centered above the sink. So I’m thinking about a 10” wide, 11” tall, semi-flush downlight from Olde Brick Lighting called Thetford. See attached picture. Is 10” going to look too skimpy in that space? An alternative that I also like is their Rutland Opal Stem or flush which can be 12” or 14” wide and would hang down 13” or 14” (for stem) or 9” or 12.5” (for flush). The pendant lights above my island will be 3, 12” Rutland Opal pendants on rods. For above the sink I thought having the light fixture open on the bottom would provide better light vs being enclosed like the Rutland. Anyway, would love to hear some opinions. Thanks!
