Comments (11)Our Miele Steam Oven, Model DG 4080. Even at this early stage I would not want to be without it. I use it a lot, every dinner at the very least. There are more things I need to learn, but so far I have used it to steam vegetables and eggs. Making potato salad was so easy. Best of all, the flavor stays in the vegetables, which is noticeably different from steaming on the stove. No more green water going down the drain either. Also used it to defrost a couple of pork chops. Defrosting was a little difficult because I didn't know what length time to set the oven for. Next time will be easy....See MoreSpeaking of burgers - has there been a favorite thread?
Comments (12)Dirtgirl107: I put this in a while back. A few have tried iand liked it. LouÂs Italian Hamburgers or Meatballs Do you use your KA for mixing Meatballs ??? I watched many of my relatives making Meatballs, thru the years. Break the eggs on the meat and start mixing with their hands. Then throw some bread crumbs in , with all the spices and keep mixing. Always thought there should be another way to mix the Spices, thru the crumbs and meat evenly throughout.. I did it this way now, for years. Ingredients: 4 ½ lbs. of Ground Sirloin 1 ½ lbs. Of ground Pork ½ Cup of fine chopped Onion ( micro wave 2 minutes ) let it cool. 3 cups of Italian Bread crumbs ( including 1 cup of Corn Flakes, ground to crumbs ) 3 tablespoons of Parsley 1 tablespoon of Salt 1 tablespoon of Garlic powder 1 tablespoon of Onion powder .3 tablespoons of Parmesan Cheese. 3 tablespoons of Powdered eggs or 2 large eggs 1 tablespoon of Chicken Soup base , mixed in 1 cup of warm water, Put the meat into the mixer , in alternate spoonfuls . Use the paddle beater. Turn on low speed to mix. Meanwhile , in another bowl, put in the bread crumbs, Onions and all the spices. Add the Chicken water mixture, if needed add more water, to make a damp mixture. Add this to the meat in the mixer. Everything mixed thru evenly. And the paddle took all the Gristle, from the meat. - - - - - - - - - - - - Measure out the meatballs ( I use an ice cream dipper ) and roll them. Place in an oiled baking pan. And Bake at 350 Degrees for about ½ hour or, Until they are browned slightly or cooked thru. I made 38 meatballs. BUT I stole a piece of the meatball mix and made an Italian Hamburger. It was delicious in a slice of bread , with nothing else on it. Reminded me of when I used to steal a fried meatball and run out of the kitchen, before my Grandmother grabbed the Wooden Spoon. Comments (29)I made the recipe from the back of the Hershey's Cocoa box and it was pretty good. It's a chocolate cake recipe with chocolate frosting. I love a recipe where the only ingredient for choclate is cocoa, because I keep that on hand. I usually have a square or two of baker's choclate, but never enought to make a whole recipe with. I buy it on a per project basis. It wasn't quite done on time, so I left it in the oven a little longer and the edges got a little overdone. A glass of milk helps with that. It's a very dark and moist cake. The order in which you add ingredients seemed a little weird for me. Maybe because I'm used to making cookies. You start with the flour, sugar, salt, soda, powder, and cocoa. Then add the eggs and vanilla. Then some milk and a cup of boiling water. Strange order it seems. I'm sure it would have been even better had I not baked it in silicone baking pans. I really dislike those things!...See MoreFavorite iPad apps thread
Comments (17)I just checked to see if springpad was available for all platforms and it is! I use it all the time I have it on my phone, tablets and pc all synced together. It is so easy to save something I might want to look at later or make a note about something. Check it out I bet you can find a use for it too. Super easy to use. Springpad I have used Imageshack for years and years for storing my pics online and using the codes to post them to forums etc. they make apps for apple and android which are great you can send your pics right from your phone or tablet etc to your imageshack account and lots more. I use it all the time. these are some of them check there may be more. Of course you would need an imageshack account which is free, I have had mine for years and have never had problems with it like I have with photobucket!
