Well, the room is very crowded and I’m not sure why all those items are in there.

The matching ottoman looks too big to be on the side there- could you use it centered as ottoman- table?
I don’t see being able to place any coffee table next to it.

The side tables are too low for the height of the sofa arms. If those were more appropriately sized, you wouldn’t need a coffee table in front.

I think it looks fine and not too crowded. I often pull the coffee table closer to me when I'm on the couch anyway. This looks like a party setup, and you want everyone to be able to reach their drinks/snacks easily. The only time I think a huge coffee table is a pain is if it blocks the flow through a narrow living room, but it's very clear that this particular setup is in a corner and people can walk around it.

why is the room shoved in a corner? I dont think its too big I think 3 small ottomans is one too many.

I think the coffee table looks to be sized fine with the furniture. I think you want between 12-18 inches between the table and the sofa or chairs. Love the color and texture of your sofa.

The rule of thumb when selecting a coffee table is to select a piece that's length is about 1/2 but no more than 2/3 of the length of the sofa, and it should be 4 inches higher or lower than the sofa. Designers refer to this aesthetically pleasing proportion as the "Golden Ratio". Other clearances that we prioritize for seating furniture selection include the space needed to walk around the coffee table. There needs to be at least 14" of space between the sofa edges and the coffee table on all sides and 18" is the standard distance. Side tables should be the same height as the chair arms, as someone previously mentioned and in general you are probably trying to fit too much in this one space. I would suggest swapping out this rectangular table for a round one to add more curves to the rectilinear forms you are already using. That creates a sense of balance and harmony. I noticed the square storage ottomans in your photos, and they take up valuable floor space and add too many footprints to the room. If you need additional storage and seating, they do have a variety of flexible coffee table options that can multitask. Many have removable tops that conceal storage below and sometimes reverse to serving trays. Others have flexible seating that is stored underneath when not in use. I would try to minimize the foot prints in the room by investing in a more versatile and functional coffee table that can meet a variety of needs - foot rest, blanket and other storage, seating. I attached a few ideas to get you started. Good luck!

I agree with @LS Design Studio in terms of the shape being the issue and not the size.

As a lay person my first instinct was everything in the room is blocky and square. Normally there would be some differentiation in shapes - i.e. occasional chairs might be curved or barrel or ottomans would be round.

Also why do you have all of those ottomans - they just seem to provide visual clutter

Is there a reason (something we can't see in the room) for the sectional to be tightly squeezed in the corner. Could the sectional be turned to face the solid wall so the chaise runs under the window? The coffee table looks fine, but the two storage ottomans and the little round one are redundant. With those gone the chair could move to when the little ottoman is now.

Put the storage ottomans some place else so you can use them as storage...maybe the front hall, put together would look like a bench.

You definitely have the space to add two more small arm chairs in lieu of the cube ottomans. But I do think what you have looks fine and is very functional. Like, I could see how people sitting on the couch or armchair might push the coffee table away and drag an ottoman around to put their feet up on. My living room is designed for comfort and functionality first. It's cute but definitely has one too many ottomans in there. So it's not instagram perfect. I'm ok with that. It still looks better than like, 90% of the other normal family living rooms out there, and so does yours.

The ceiling fixture needs to be larger and more modern IMO

I'd add some art to the wall behind the chaise & a floor lamp that is a much bigger scale and puts out better lighting.

I am being a nooge I know, but I can't get a handle on the room. Honestly, two more questions and that's it. Can the fireplace be moved elsewhere? What is the credenza next to the Christmas tree? Floors are gorgeous; love your air locked entry and you have snow!

Meantime, I think the entry wall should have something that makes the space feel like a foyer. This could be a good spot for the storage ottomans...mittens, hats, etc.

The center ceiling light, I'm assuming it was hung so it could be seen from outside through the half moon window.

Forgetting table and chairs for now, what if you position your sectional, coffee table, rug, chair right in the middle of the window? (Love the continuous rod and added match stick blinds. Any interest?)

Now that I have seen all the pics, I would probably rearrange all the furnishings. Do you want to consider that?

Looks like the FP is permanent. The style just doesn't seem to fit in this home.

I might move the DR area and take over the total front room as the living room and really spread out.

If you take the ottomans away (for a moment) can you pull the whole seating arrangement off the wall? It feels like a windstorm came through and the furniture got blown into that corner. The arrangement is pretty good but needs air circulation - space around it.

The room needs some work, are you planning to put a tv in here? if not i think I would start by shifting everything toward the dining table, put that credenza in the entry hall. pull the rug out more from under the sofa. But I agree with Beverly you need to stretch it out

Is there room to put the dining table near the fireplace so you can “spread out” the other furniture?

I also think some of the sofa needs to come off the rug, so you see a bit more of the rug and it isn't all hiding under the sofa. Moving the rug out will also give you more room to "ground" other chair legs on it.

Coffee table is not too big. I like it there. I would suggest a quite different layout though within this room. There is too much dead space and the fireplace looks stranded by itself. I'd play around with arranging your seating area closer to the fireplace. Also, you sofa is really beautiful and has simple MCM lines. I'd ditch all those throw pillows that are hiding your lovely sofa.

You might try centering your living area under the light fixture and centered on the window. Then send your dining area to the other vacant area off the kitchen and foyer area.

I also think it looks as though the wind has blown everything in the corner. You have plenty of room.

Maybe the little rug is contributing to the problem. It’s too small. Bigger rug would give you room to spread your furniture out.
