Thanks so much for the comments. Terriks - I see what you mean about the same sort of lines - the 2nd mirror is 34" long in that 42" space - my concern was that might be too Large? but I do like that mirror also-actually bought it after the other one.

I wouldn't use beadboard because it's cottage/beachy and your bathroom is traditional. If you want the beadboard look, I'd use a Shaker vanity. Otherwise I'd use traditional paneling with that vanity. Here are a few examples: With a warm color palette, you could use polished nickel for a little sparkle. It has a gold undertone where chrome has a blue undertone. The vanity is heavy and ornate so I'd probably look for a wood framed mirror for balance, though I'd keep it simple. I like rectangular mirrors when you are using an overhead light fixture. I'd use a traditional three-light fixture that's a few inches shorter than the mirror. What will the countertop be?

Very good point made about learning the outside air requirements for the furnace. Now that I belatedly think about it, there is no way--if that HVAC unit is gas fired, natural gas or propane, no way that it can be allowed in a small space with an exhaust fan and a vented dryer. Obvious reason being that carbon monoxide from the heater getting sucked into the living space. In the latest rendition with the toilet in the space where the W/D was--what is the point of putting the toilet in a closet. Anyone using the toilet can't close the bifold door. Bifold doors are miserable enough when they're closet doors that you operate only once a day...I sure wouldn't want to use them for a toilet enclosure that is used multiple times a day. Another reason to avoid them is that they are pretty flimsy as a rule and prone to having hardware components break and wear out. Why not take the toilet out of the closet, turn it to face the lavatory? Aside from the closet not meeting code and being horrendous to actually use, those walls are eating up floorspace. One other concern...is there enough room to actually get into the shower?

What about forgoing light fixture and put in lighted mirrors? Round or oval, as large as would fit might fool the eye. ^^^Or center mirror over sink and add a single pendant on both sides of the window. Or center a mirror over the sink (or fill the whole area from wall to window and hang a pendant light or one sconce on each side of window - maybe like this double sconce: I think these mirrors have two sconces, but show what one on the sides of the windows would look like. I probably wouldn't use this style, however.
