Banana- Thanks for compliments! Coping on the spa is Tennessee Crab Orchard Flagstone in grey. I don't think they did anything to the edge - that's just how it came from the stone yard. The stacked stone surrounding the spa is called Delaware Valley Blend. The coping on the pool is EP Henry Coventry bullnose in the Harvest Blend color, which ties into our pool deck and patio area. I empathize with you. Making these color selections, and choosing the River Rok, were the hardest part of our build. I made myself crazy - it was hard for me to visualize how everything would work together. I just kept my fingers crossed...

This was probably 13 years ago but I just saw his bathroom recently. The tile was subway, crackle and a shaded aqua(ish) blue. I'd recognize his name if I saw it.

You can look for blue glass jars for q-tips and other toiletries and a tray for setting down wet objects on the vanity. Your idea of using the glass tiles to frame a mirror could look nice, especially since those are interesting, swirly colored glass tiles and they a re not small squares. What size are your glass tiles? Maybe going to a glass shop with the size you want for your mirror will give you some ideas on how to do it. They may have some idea whether to put the mirror and tiles on some kind of backer board versus applying the tile to the wall after the mirror is hung.

There's nothing wrong with using subway tile in a shower. It's been fine for a hundred years or so. ;) Make sure your contractor uses a high-quality epoxy grout and clean it occasionally. Also think about your grout color choice. Pure white will be more subject to discoloration over time, even if it's epoxy, but anything with a little color will hide most indiscretions in cleaning or upkeep. That said, the blue is a bold choice, and it sounds like you want something more neutral. You can definitely pull in accents via artwork, towels/rugs and other accessories, and change them out as you wish. Then when you leave the space, the next owner is left with a blank slate.
