Do I use EMT or PVC to run #2 wire from main to garage - above ground

I am adding an new sub panel to my garage. It is a 100 amp rated sub panel (GE main panel - but using as a sub). I will take out the ground strap screw as to separate the ground bus from the neutral bus. My question - I have about 60 feet of run. I have 2 2 2 4 copper #2 wire. I want to run it attached to the house (under the soffit) about 45 feet with a 90 degree bend. What is best suited to house the wire - EMT or PVC and what size? I would rather use PVC - easier for me to work with. I am unsure however on heat rating, length and size pvc to use.
