Are you trying to fit a tub toilet and shower in 116 inches? hope the experts weigh in on the curbless shower issue

No Just a shower and a tub. Toilet is behind the wall with the hole in it .

I can , if that is helpful get rid of that wall that separates the tub area and a toilet . However will need to decide what to do with sewer pipe running from 2nd level

I like the toilet separate like you have it now. Consider a tub deck that is also the shower bench.

Thank you, I had similar setup before remodel and I want to get rid of the permanent bench and have an option of a portable dense wood seat. This way I will have more room. And I don’t particularly like the tile surround of the tub .

Gotcha. I like the idea of a movable seat. That gives you a lot more functionality than a fixed bench and takes up less space too. What’s the other dimension for the shower?

I want it to be 48” wide . That’s where the door trim starts

We have the setup shown by marilynmontano. Now we are planning to make a bigger shower area and forgo the tub.

Bobby A, I am concerned of the resale value if I get rid of the tub. I am hoping someone can advise on the shower size and tub size that may work in this setup or what other options I have

I'm not sure you can go curbless with your floor already poured -- the shower area needs to be tilted down from the rest of the floor to get proper drainage. Maybe stick with 48" and use a shower base.

No, no, no the floor is not pored. It is a OSB flooring just looks like that due to dust

Do you have a tub in another bathroom? if you do, then I dont think not having one in the master will affect resale value.

I do but it is in small bathroom and upstairs. I would really put a tub here. Otherwise not sure how to arrange the shower and what would be in this “tub” intended space instead. I can demo the wall separating the toilet . But not sure how toilet would look like next to a tub . And in this case need to solve the white sewer pipe problem.

You probably have a situation like mine where the tub is centered on the window which leaves about 48 inches for your shower. My shower is 48 inches across and is fine. It does have lots of elbow room which I would think you would also have if you make the shower 4X4 feet.

In that case I will have only 68” clear and prob less accounting for glass . Is this enough for freestanding tub?

I decided to go with Japanese style soaking tub. This way I will get my shower large enough and tub will have small footprint

Good choice. Curbless shower requires a proper slope to drain exit. Make sure that’s done to code.

We have wood that our tub drops in. Marble on the deck and wall but the side of the wood deck is cabinet Panels that pop off. They match the vanity

Keep the size of the shower 48” and you can have floating bench.

60” would be good enough for the size of the Tub anything bigger than 60” would overcrowd the bathroom.

Michael, do you think it’s acceptable to have 3” clear on each side of the tub. On one side to the wall on the other shower glass ?
