Design Dilemma Kitchens

Does anyone have Makellos kitchen cabinets? If so, do you like them?

I’m thinking of getting Makellos white shaker caninets. It’s an RTA line with comparable materials & design (birchwood frame, plywood shelves, MDF middle panel, 6-way Euro hinge, soft close) as more well known brands. i’m hoping for feedback from people who have them. Thanks!!

Their materials and how they are designed/put together is just like more well known brands like Fabuwood (made in Vietnam) and CNC. … Do you have Makellos? I’d like some feedback from someone who owns them

I love Parade. A great bloomer, nice scent, almost no disease. The colour is a deep pink, quite bright and pretty. These photos by Cactus Joe at Help me find are accurate for colour from my experience. Does anyone have 'The Galley Sink'? How do you like it?

I have two Galley sinks and I am so diapointed with them. I would love to remove them, but I cannot without destroying my counters because of the way these sinks mount, which is different from most kitchen sinks. Just be aware, that when you purchas a Galley sink, it is permanent unless you want to redo your counters too. What I don't like about them is how messy they look. I have a busy household, so lots of dishes and every time the water is turned on, it spots the sink unless I hand dry it. This is impracticle for a busy home. Food sticks to the sides of the sink easily and the corners are very hard to clean. Also, the ledge where the boards rest, gets wet because of dish washing so the caulking breaks down easily and there is a moldy rim around the edge of the sink becuase of this design. (I had the caulking fixed within a year, but it happens in a matter of weeks) . I contacted the company and they sent me a product to clean it, but the product was like other products I can buy and the problem is the design and the materials. The company also comes acorss as uncaring and poorly skilled when dealing with customer disapointments. I had a stainless steel sink before and never experienced it looking like this, I actually liked that sink. Also, their bamboo boards broke down very easily. I had new boards made out of walnut and my new boards have lasted two years getting wet daily, with no extra drying from me and they look great. I think Galley sinks wants to be this fancy company but it's just cheap materials, cheap product, cheap customer service. Again, I wish I could remove them, but I cannot without destroying my counters and my counters are so expenisve that I am stuck with these horrible sinks. Good luck with your house remodel!

Probably the one thing to be aware of is that with such a wide/shallow bevel, some drawers might need to be slab rather than 5-piece (because the center panel will be too small otherwise). Also, is that a groove where the bevel meets the center panel? It almost looks like it in the photo (or it's where stain pooled and that makes it look dark like a groove.) Just wondering if that will end up looking grubby or be hard to clean if it is.

We lived in a townhome a few years ago that was outfitted in every room with ceiling fans with integrated LED light kits. The light put out by them was green-ish in hue and too dim, especially in the living room. I even called the manufacturer to see if there were any other options for changing out the LED light rings but there wasn’t. So my point is, do the math to see how many lumens are needed to light your room well and closely check the lumens and light color put out by the ceiling fans you are considering. Also consider whether light bulbs can be changed or are they integrated. My preference would be a ceiling fan with no light and recessed lighting to properly light the room. Along with floor lamps and table lamps for softer lighting in the evening. . .

They do not even tell you what wood they use these are made God knows where and usually any warranty is useless from cabinets made in Asia Go Ikea at lest you get a warranty that can be used and the quality IMO the best for the price anywhere . I have used them in my designs for 22 yrs and had one warranty issue solved in the store in an hour .

Thanks. The Makellos cabients are birch wood (with plywood shelving). my understanding is that most cabinet warranties (for just about every brand) are limited to hardware… plus any dents and issues upon delivery

Buy something from a decent mid grade American produced line rather than cheap import crapola. Mid grade cabinets and higher quality have LIFETIME warranties.

I’ve founf in my research that these ”lifetime” warranties are more like limited lifetime warranties. So wear and tear isn’t covered. The fine print for cabinet warranties reveal that essentially only nicks and issues upon arrival with cabinets are covered. Anything else (other than hardware issues) are not going to be covered down the road.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Ive has an entire 9 year old KM kitchen replaced because of a bad batch of paint. Wholesale drawer glide replacements for 13 year old Aristokraft, which isn’t even mid grade. Etc. A good line has less problems to begin with, but they do back them for a lifetime. Of course they do not warranty against stupid things homeowners do like letting kids play field hockey in there or cleaning with gallons of water.
