Trends - What's Going to Replace Stainless Steel Appliances?
Comments (56)I predict that appliance finishes will become the next great province of corporate brand exposure. It will start small, a little "Ben and Jerry's" logo near the freezer handle, perhaps. Or a "Jimmy Dean" etched into the meat drawer. Then it will grow. Soon, our appliances will be festooned with advertising thicker than a NASCAR Champion's fender. There will emerge interesting and profitable cross marketing opportunities as pharmaceutical companies discover how closely our desire to feed ourselves is coupled to our desire for sex. Then every time we reach for a slice of cheese and a Pepsi we'll hear the "Viva Viagra" chorus or the annoying jangles of the "Cialis Daily" bathtub melody reminding us to take our pills....See MoreThe ugliest color in the world ...
Comments (79)I'd have to see it in person rather than on a computer monitor. Here it just looks like "off black". This is the person speaking who ordered some quartz countertop material I almost envisioned for my kitchen. It looked like a nice earthy mix of dark greens and browns. I get the sample: It looked like what would happen if someone ate a dish of peas and sweet potato - and promptly threw up. So, actually, the color doesn't look that bad on the screen (although it is decidedly too dark for painting walls with) - I'll need to drop into a paint store to see it in all its un-glory!...See MoreHELP - 11x13 Master Bath - privacy shower and toilet placement
Comments (7)Thanks for feedback- we have a tub in the guest bath on current main level. For the pop-up we can put a tub in the kids shared bath. They are getting to an age where they probably like standup shower like our current 3x5 but can do combo for family bath on resale if that is better for families to bathe younger kiddos down the road. I think it is a 50/50 mix in our area (NoVA/DC metro). The really small remodeled homes don't have them. The ones we may 'compete' against would be new builds which are larger square footage. So if no tub (which we are fine with) is to find a design for a really nice shower but feel airy and spacious in the room. If we go no tub, should we reduce space and widen walk in closet or do something with laundry closet? Or just make shower a little bigger - if shower at entrance would that be a wall or just go with frosted glass? Our master bath had entrance adjusted so DH could get his 'sitting space' and place a TV or something on a wall there (also to avoid door to door direct line Feng shui with opposite bedroom. Current laundry is in basement so we thought we should at least have a mini w/d upstairs. We are blowing out some walls on main level so don't want to lose storage space on main to place laundry there as a compromise option that had come up....See MoreHomeworthy in Maine
Comments (27)@jojoco she said she's from Louisianna, then lived Houston. Not sure where their primary residence is located. I did enjoy watching the video, but did not enjoy her rude comments about the previous owner - having had a taste of that with the decorator (she's not an ID) that did our last house on her IG stories. #noclass #sh*tshow #itsnotjustme #willeventuallystartathread I have used the word fugly for years now, after a fugly house was built in one of our previous neighborhoods. We saw it coming and going, as it sat on the main street at the end of our cul de sac. One morning we had a heavy fog that completely hid the house. Sent it to DH and a couple of neighbors/friends with "best photo every of the fugly house." They died. But back to the Maine house. The viewing is breathtaking. Kitchen clutter killed me, as did "dead baby head" description. Favorite things were anything blue added to the bland furnishings....See Morechloebud
