I Think I'm Done Crying Now-
Comments (13)Thanks Ryan (NOL) & Brenda. The biggest part of the deceased weren't cuttings, they were full grown plants (sob!). Of the cuttings that I kept inside, I only lost a few due to missing watering a couple in the back & the ones that the cats knocked off that rolled under the table. I had a container of tall cuttings on the porch that actually had the bottoms frozen in a couple inches of ice (electric off). One just barely made it but was mushy & unhealthy looking so I trashed it. I lost all but the biggest plants there. I have threatened to just bring them all inside & put up lights in every room in the house next fall. We will all happily bask in artificial sun all winter (with the aphids & mites) LOL. Comments (2)I use the Sea Monkey browser and it has a small plug in called Adblock . It blocks most pop ups by blocking the content from displaying. You might want to try it. You can find Sea Monkey at the link below and then get the plug in by clicking on Add Ons on the left hand side of the scrren. Here is a link that might be useful: Sea Monkey Broswer...See MoreI'm finally done! Now I'm in the ABB club.
Comments (27)carree, the Hirsch tile is gorgeous, but waaaaay out of my price range. I'm going to post a new thread for BS help. I'm finally back with some more details and hopefully some better photos. We just got the new NXR installed and a few last minute details finished. We made our first "real" meal in the oven tonight! Whooppeee-- feels like a real kitchen now. For those who asked about the NXR, I will try to post in the appliance forum, but the first one arrived with damage (ordered from Costco). After trying to get it repaired with warranty company, we opted to just return it and get another one. Smart move... should have just done that from the start. Anyway, the 2nd one is the charm and it works well. I'm posting a few new photos just because I'm embarrassed by how blurry the first ones are. Maybe I should edit the original post? I posted the insides of my drawers in another thread. As for the MO shelf, it looks nice when it's closed and seemed good when it was planned, but not sure that I would do that again. It's hard to open the cabinet next to it if it's open and it's just a PITA to open and close it. We are not big MO users, but our kitty seems to insist on having his food heated for exactly 8 seconds! Thanks again for the help and BS suggestions....See MoreAdded a chair, now I'm confused
Comments (25)Have you considered a pale grayish-blue or grayish-green on your kitchen wall? I think something like that would go well with the turquoise you love, the gray in your living room, the chair, and your cabinet and trim stain. Keep in mind you don't have to pick the exact shade and saturation of a color (for example a color in the chair) to have the wall color coordinate. Matching the saturation of any of those chair colors on a wall would probably overwhelm your space. I like to get paint chips I'm considering and put them next to other paint chips (of colors in adjoining rooms that are staying) and other important elements in the rooms and sort of play with them in different light conditions to see if I like them together before even getting the paint samples. When you find one that "sticks" and you get a sample, it might help if you paint a big piece of paper, or at least wider swatches on the wall up against the cabinets so you're not seeing so much bright green in between. I think it's hard to "see" a color when it's so small and surrounded by a competing bright color. It's helped me to identify things that I love and know I want to keep and decorate around, and use those things as inspiration and to "consult" for each decision (like choosing paint). If you love the chair, that could be one thing to inspire your palette along with the gray and turquoise. It's okay that the chair doesn't have gray or turquoise... It has black (which is essentially just the most saturated gray ;) ) and it has a blue that looks like (at least on my monitor) it coordinates with turquoise. Of course you also have to make sure your choices go with what's there and not changing for awhile (such as trim, cabinets, and couches). Don't get stuck on decorating around dish towels... unless you really love them and they're one of your inspirations! Anyway, not sure if this will help at all, but I've been where you are, overwhelmed and feeling like things will never come together. Reading the advice on this forum has helped me a lot in thinking about my own space and how to pull things together. But if your gut is saying the chair just isn't right, then I'd say listen to it. That's more important than any advice you can get from people looking at pictures and giving your opinions :) Good luck!!...See Morerifis (zone 6b-7a NJ)
