Desertsteph, yes, the 2nd photo looks a lot like the layout we will have as far as wall, door and light placement, floating vanity, etc. (but we will have 2 recessed sinks). Mostly I am trying to figure out whether to do that layout with the wood shelf as shown in #2 or the tile ledge from #1, but with the rest like #2. Treasuretheday, I see what you mean about #1 being harmonious because the ledge is the same depth and color as the side cabinets next to the ledge and same color as the ceiling. Would you still like the ledge best if it were added to bath #2 (with the walls coming all the way out on the sides of the vanity and the walls a different color than the tile ledge)? I am considering stopping the mirror at 7' tall and putting 1' of tile that will match the ledge above the mirror to the ceiling -- will that help tie in the ledge better? You have the same concern about #2 that I do -- the feeling that the faucets are under a shelf. I found some really pretty deck mounted faucets to use if I go that way, and I would not want them to be hidden (why I am considering #3, plus less cost). Weedyacres, I hadn't even considered potentially hitting my head when I lean over to brush my teeth. I don't like that the shelf would protrude into my sink space, but otherwise like the look. I have 4' between the vanity and the opposite wall, so I could pull the vanity cabinet forward 3-4" (or just make it deeper for more storage), so that the shelf is behind rather than directly over the faucets. Does anyone think that would be a good idea? Here is another bathroom that has a tiled ledge (taller this time) that is just next to a wall like mine would be, rather than next to cabinets the same depth as the ledge. Does this change any opinions? Get a cabinet for the TV when you just said I have too much furniture? My main purpose in my house is hosting groups of people, we constantly have people over so if I have to choose between more seating and a cabinet, seating wins, every time. The rattan chair was given to us for free, I don' like it but it adds seating so it stays. And finally, everyone chooses which battles they are going to fight with their kids, for me I would rather go through the trouble of hanging my stuff a little higher and avoid them making it fall and hurt them and focus on other lessons that are more important right now. Honestly, you'e comment was the most unhelpful I have ever received here but it makes me never want to ask for advise from here again. Interior design is different for everyone because every one has different priorities and needs and if you're going to give advice to someone of their design, make sure you are trying to serve them accordingly, and if you can't then just refrain from saying any comment at all because at that point you are only serving yourself

Working full time with 3 little ones tends to prolong my projects. we built the faux sofa table and found some art and lamps. I got throw pillows for the couch (The covers haven’t arrived yet for 3 of them). Do you guys think all 4 feather pictures are too crowded between the lamps or will those look ok? I was considering blowing up some pics of my kids for the other wall If i can find other art that coordinates. Because the two walls are perpendicular to each other, does the art need to be a similar size on the other wall? Thank you!

How many people are in your household? What else do you need to put in that room? I would consider putting the tv on the left hand wall with couch where you have the tv in your plan. Put the tv on a console so it can be turned toward the couch for better viewing. The you could have additional chairs closer to the sliding doors for more people to sit when needed.
