I might push the loveseat that's perpendicular to the front door toward the fireplace by about a foot or so, then add a narrow console table behind it. The table will act somewhat like a room divider to separate the entry walkway space from the living area. I'd remove the current armchair (too big) and get a smaller one to put on the other side of the fireplace. Where the current armchair is, add a tall etagere for books or objects to add some visual interest. Get a couple of small cube ottomans to put under the console for additional seating when you need it. Add a small square coffee table in front of the loveseat. You need some color in this room. I'd opt for a different rug that maybe has some blue or sage green, then pick up those colors for throw pillows.

Looking for advice on what to do with this odd(ish) room. Intended use will be kitchen / dining room / sitting area. I don't need a formal tv space, as our tv will be in another room, although we were thinking about putting up a samsung frame above the fireplace for cooking videos and such. For the sitting area, I'd love to be able to play board games, curl up and read a book, or have coffee chats. I also love function, so a table, or sideboard to store keys or any other useful stuff is great! Any and all advice is appreciated. Couple of key points: With the exception of the dining room table, i'm not married to any of the furniture, so it can go or stay. If possible I'd like to fit the coffee table, but I realize it's large so not a deal breaker. The alcove space to the right of the refrigerator has been ear-marked this pantry, Which we definitely need, so not much can go there. The side of the island facing the fireplace, has cabinets, which are in active use (hold pressure cooker and such) so furniture can't be pushed up against it. The window to the right of the french doors (in the pictures it has a green pillow against it) has a doggy door, so that can't be covered either. The measurement from fireplace to island is 113 inches. Left edge of gray cabinet to right edge of the fire place is 98.5 inches. The wall color is gray / green. It's greenish during the day and grayish at night. I'm so lost as to what to do. Pictures will be posted below.

Ok so the piece with the tv isn’t going to remain. I’m Buying a smaller piece, we just needed a place to Put a tv. The red door is the front door. The lever opening leads to the dinning room. Measurements Wall with couch is 10ft long Wall between door and window with tv is 6ft I’m looking for suggestions (visuals if anyone has any) for furniture placement. I can remove the chaise portion of the couch so there is no L to the couch and then the couch would be 7ft long I was thinking of an oval or rectangular coffee table I wanted to add 2 chairs near the couch but unsure of the room and making it too cramped Here is the entrance picture to dinning room

I can see option 2 working the best, but hopefully there is some flexibility at this point. Consider improved functionality, as well as (eventual) resale. You can gain a wider area between kitchen/seating area by changing the opening on lower right to be near kitchen. Now seating area can be moved down! Suggest an island (longer than peninsula if possible) to gain access on both sides, added storage, wider if possible for better entertaining (ie: buffet). I’d move sink/dishwasher to be near dish storage and to keep island/peninsula clear. People will gravite here. A focal wall with built in electric fireplace would feel spacious, be a great feature in your open concept, and keep that space uninterrupted to get to opposite side of room. Opposite wall idea. There is a lot to consider and thinking about overall functionality is key before furniture placement. Hopefully you have a floor plan with exact dimensions, structural components and space requirements to make the best decisions. Good luck.
