Thank you to everyone for your input! It was a tough decision, but BM Rockport Gray won out in the end and we're very happy with it. Any of these colors would've looked great (no "perfect" color, in my opinion) and it was helpful to think about the overall look we wanted. This website is so useful to me, so just wanted to pay it forward with some pointers that may help anyone considering painting their exterior these colors: 1. Rockport Gray is a really pretty "warm" gray. In direct sunlight it looks almost beige-khaki, and in the shade or indirect light is where you see more gray. 2. RG does not clash with our reddish-brown roof! 3. I was surprised how much lighter the color came out to be. We might have been ok going a little darker, but in any case I'm still happy with it. Our original exterior color was so light, so I think that testing RG on top of it made RG seem much darker than it turned out to be. 4. It was really helpful to narrow down all 20 of our "warm gray/ greige" paints to just 3 or 4 samples. The paint chips are great suggestions to point you in the right direction, but after a while they start to look the same and you really don't know until you test it directly where it's going! 5. Our house is east-facing and the roof is multi-gabled, so we needed a color that would work with all sorts of (mostly direct) sunlight angles & roof appearances. We tested various paints in many spots and noticed right away with all paint colors that there's no one "true" shade that came through. Every test area looked different. Another reason why I think we had no "perfect" color! 6. Our trim color is Benjamin Moore White Dove. We wanted something softer/creamier but I think BM Simply White would've looked crisp and really nice as well with Rockport Gray. 7. We're also painting our doors a soft black! One of the reasons we went with RG is because we thought it was the best color to go with black doors, so it was helpful to think about the overall look (siding with trim with doors). If you are selling, you should be just sprucing up so that things look clean and uncluttered, but not “knocking out closets“, and definitely not ”renovating the house” with new floors. First, changing out floors is a big stressful job. Second, lifting an old floor can open a can of worms that could really mess you up. Third, the floor you pick will not match what buyers might like - it’s best to price the home with the current floors in mind, and let the new owners install the floor they want. Fourth—and most important—you will not recoup in the sale price what you spent on “renovating the house”. Here is a screenshot of the floors you linked. That gray stripey look is dated several years already. One reason it got dated so fast is that it is very difficult to match wall paint, upholstery, counter, and cabinet finishes to it, nearly impossible. Don‘t install this. Just leave your floors as is and price your home accordingly.

Thank you for your comments! Yes, i was kind of worried that the marble would look too formal for this type of house. And as far as black & white basket weave, etc etc… I have never loved that look :( I wish I did. It’s a nice look, in other pictures. I judt dont think i could livw with it on a daily basis. (Maybe sonehow that’s related to the fact that i used to work in a 50s diner with black and white tile!) As for the first picture, I was trying to go for a ’stone’ look. But you think it just look like grey wood??
