happy - definitely don't need MORE room in this bathroom - trying to figure out a better plan with a smaller vanity. I prefer a vanity over a pedestal - need room to store stuff, that's for sure. sweeby, what are ceiling breaks?? Never heard that term before. I'm sure if I go to the library I'll find books that probably have a layout of this kind in it for ideas, but would love to find someone who's dealt with this before and what they've done. You've given some great ideas to look in to. The half wall, between the toilet and the vanity is definitely an option I'll consider. Possibly a door between the toilet/shower and the vanity may be good too. Oh, that floor, it's linoleum, or something like it - coming up in areas - very ugly!!!! ashleysf, as I mentioned above, I think your idea of a door would be good. I don't think a pocket door would go, but when I go tomorrow to look at the house again I'll definitely see if it's an option - I would think a regular door could easily go there, but honestly, I can't remember for sure. I'd like to end the vanity where the 2nd outlet is on that wall (see pic) I think that's long enough. In my current guest bathroom I have a tall floor to almost ceiling cabinet where I store towels and other bathroom related items. It could be a consideration instead of using the existing closet and possibly do something else with that closet area, as I did with my master bathroom linen closet - it's all shelving with decorative stuff on it (when it's clean that is, otherwise, it seems to have become a catch-all!) Any other ideas, as always, are always appreciated and taken in to consideration.

My3dogs - I think that's the only way I'm going to be able to get a good look at everything. Maggie - Do you mean the valance on the shower curtain or for the window? Delilah - No not mixing the checks. They are two fabric options. The reason I posted the larger check against the shower curtain (#2) was because I just was showing it in a vertical position as it would be if I made it into a shower curtain and how it related to the floor. I just clipped it on. #1 small check I also pinned it for the same reasons as well as the idea that I could maybe keep the existing shower curtain or make it the check. I can use that vertical mirror elsewhere. It currently is in my bedroom. I like the art I have, but I also have this print I thought I might like in here and would pull the darker colors from the floor as well as the lighter colors. If any of you remember what the rest of my house looks like it's going to change somewhat once we get hardwood throughout (except in the baths and laundry rooms). These three photos are ones in my inspiration photo that I've consistently liked for years and while my house doesn't look like these, I'd like to pull elements and the overall feel from them into my house. Do you think this bathroom direction is keeping a similar feel? fortheloveofahouse pinkpaula (and I think I am going to lean this direction for my bedroom.)

We have a pocket door on the 3/4 bath inside the master, and honestly we almost never close it. We close the bedroom swing door if we need privacy. The pocket door is there if we need it. But for a full bath going out into a hallway a swing door would be much better.

Hey! this would be a crazy idea but have you ever thought about moving the tub vertical and then toilet right under that window . Be more functional . def would keep that bathtub because for the kids :) vanity in that left area ! only thing that would cost is plumbing but not sure how much that would cost .
