I put my cookbooks 2 deep in my end cabinets and it drives me crazy. I put the ones I use most in front but when I have to get the ones behind it means I have to pull 2-3 out in front to really see and get the one I want. Maybe shelves would be different as long as there's enough height b/t the, but I don't have a lot of height so can't grab it and pull it over the top of the other books once I remove 1 and see the one I want. Unless the one in back is thinner than the one in front I can't just pull it out straight, I have to remove 2 in front to pull 1 out from the back row. But I really don't want to stick my crockpot behind either b/c then I'd have to pull *everything* out to get it! I'd put the cookbooks on shallow shelves (maybe a wall cabinet? I had one built into the island at old house and thought it was a big waste of space without a deep cabinet on other side, but now I miss the convenience of having cookbooks and phone books 1 deep) in the kitchen and leave the deep storage for big things. I think I have to purge my cookbook collection and find a place for the ones I use often, put the rest in another room.

@KitchenLady The biggest problem I had with the LED strips was that the adhesive sucks. They didn't stick AT ALL and kept falling down. I never got to find out if they were any good lighting wise. So I basically just clipped it to the short side of the shelf. I have 2 of these clip-on lights, one for my violets and one for my succulents. Both seem to light the lights a lot and the violets have actually flowered for the first time in a long time. I'd say these lights are pretty good, so far. Hope that helps! PS ignore that violet in the back. It's pissed about something unrelated to the lights.

msa, look for recycled glass jug or demijohn. Here's one at Wayfair, https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/beachcrest-home-recycled-glass-decorative-jug-bchh2414.html?redir=SKU+BCHH2414&piid=20525727 If you're just starting, with that wider-than-the-TV print above the TV, and are planning to add more framed prints/pictures, that's a good start. If that's all you're doing, then it's unbalanced. You need to balance the width of the TV, and it helps if the depth (height) of the print over the TV is equal to or less than the TV. Look at your/phun's inspiration pic. Also look at the inspiration pic and notice that you have a large number of very small items in and on top of the bookcase. In the inspiration pic, a number of the items on top are corralled in a wire basket making them look like one larger unit. A lot of styling shelves successfully is understanding/figuring out balance and mass/weight. You can have different items on either side of the TV -- two fern prints vs. three varied size baskets -- but the mass is equivalent so they look well-balanced.

The only accessory I see that is farmhouse style is the galvanized tub. Don't use the beachy stuff, and don't corner the bookcase. Why not just fill it with books and use it in a reading spot with a nice chair?
