The 9-iron ninja attacked my yard
Comments (8)I will try to help you out here as best I can. Your question is a bit confusing but I think I have it sorted out. To the Poa question it is too late to get to the heart of the problem preventing it from germinating, so premergence is out for that but still should be considered for what is coming. As for the divots, just use sand (coarse builders or sharp sand) to fill the holes. I do not suggest seed because there is none to match 419. Cosmetically you can get one of the powdered dyes to mix with the sand like golf courses use. Now here is where you lost me. Why cant you take the grass down to an inch or less? Is it because you let it get too high and your reel mower cannot take it down with an even cut? Or is it because the grade is to lumpy/bumpy and uneven? If it is because of your grass being too high, sand is not going to fix it. To fix it you start right now assuming all chance of frost has passed. If you want to maintain at say 1-inch, you need to scalp it down to 1/2 inch now and rake up all the debris. It will look like he!! for a couple of weeks, but that is how you fix it. If it is because the grade suks will talk later. Cannot fix that right now....See MoreUgly bugs are attacking my roses - HELP!
Comments (13)The best product for my use of these varmits is Milky Spore and it is safe to use. I used this product two years ago and no longer deal with June bugs, JB, or grubs in the soil. Before I had all of these guys all over yard and garden. I am not a salesman for this product but I am really impressed by it. One of the reasons I used it because I have three dachshunds and I am very careful what I use in the yard. (Even tho they barely go out in the yard unless they must!). And with Milky Spore it is good for 3-5 years. Milky Spore is not harmful to beneficial insects, birds, bees, pets or man. I used it on my yard and also put a small amount at the base of each rose bush. Here is a link for further info: Like I said it worked for me at least. Also pricey but it works so the price isn't that bad. http://homeharvest.com/milkyspore.htm...See MoreI hope my yard guy didn't kill my Banana Plant Ack!
Comments (2)Yes, the banana should come back and will likely throw more than one pup. You can severely damage bananas, even cut them right off and they will grow back. The only time you lose is if you rot the corm . I would get a new yard person too. You might think that's harsh but unless they had free reign to care for the entire yard, they shouldn't be touching what they don't know. That or estimate a value for the plant they cut down and take that out of their fee....See MoreMy dog attacked my other dog. HELP!
Comments (18)'Why on earth would you allow a breed like that in your home is beyond me. Keep the pit mix and expect more of the same incidents in the future.' Why would you question what type dog a person has if they are a responsible owner, as sarah appears to be. She has realized that there is a problem and working to resolve it. This dominance/jealousy problem could have risen with any breed dog, not only a Pitt. I have been around/worked with dogs all my life; the three times I was bitten was by a Cocker, a Jack Russell and a Sheltie. Pitts are not the top bitters, but as larger dogs they do more damage when they bite. A lot of smaller dog bites are also not reported making their bite statistics lower on the list. I've seen Pitts who were wonderful "people/kid dogs", who were wonderful pets and great with other pets and I've seen Pitts who were wonderful pets but couldn't be trusted around other pets, same as can be found in any breed. I can't say I would never have a Pit because I've had too many rescues to say never but I probably wouldn't go out and intentionally get a Pit due to not knowing bloodlines or how the animal had been raised. At one time there was a guy here in Florida who bred Pitts just for fighting. He took the worst of the worst and bred them over and over. If you got a dog from his bloodlines in error, you could very well have a problem because this IDIOT had bred them to be vicious. I've seen people who want their Pitts to be bad and train/abuse them to be so. Sadly, in cases like these the dogs are the ones who suffer. Personally I think that people of this ilk, people who fight dogs and people such as this breeder need to be put into a cage and forced to fight in the same manner which the dogs are forced to do. Animal abuse laws aren't strict enough in my opinion. People who abuse animals have no respect for any kind of life as far as I am concerned. Bless you sarah for fostering....See Morejim1961 / Central Pennsylvania / Zone 6
