Help!: long living room with long bay window
Comments (2)You appear to have baseboard heat/ac beneath those windows. That's something that would need to be addressed if you build in a window seat and/or taken into account if you place your sofa in that window bay. One drawback to having a sofa floating in the middle of the room (as shown in your pic) is that there are no end tables with lamps (hidden cord issues) for either end of your sofa ... unless you're setting one end table between the sofa and the wall that separates the living room and kitchen. Your walk-thru path would then be between the sofa and the large window/window/seat. If you prefer the back of your sofa against the wall (with end tables on each end), another option might be to move the doorway between the living room and dining room closer to the fireplace and face your sofa toward and centered with the large window with a couple of swivel rockers and table between them in that window bay....See MoreLiving Room Furniture Placement for th Uneven Alcoves Large Bay Window
Comments (2)I would take some painters tape and square off the room. The bay window side and the alcove side and use the square area for furniture placement. I would hold off on buying a sectional until you are absolutely certain it will work. Most often a sofa and chairs is a better purchase...See MoreHelp arranging living room with diagonal wall, bay window, & fireplace
Comments (3)Here is how I would arrange it. Not having dimension, this is obviously not to scale, but gives you general idea. I'd use round features when possible to eliminate the look of the angled wall. Example: here I used a round rug and chairs. I don't know how much space is in the bay window area or if you need to place a dining table there. But, if so, this is one option of how to fit a dining table in smaller space: scoot it up to the back of the sofa. I also do not have information on what furniture you have, but I would not use 2 sofas as the current owner is showing. I'd use one sofa and a couple of chairs, as show below. Hope that helps. Let me know if I can help further....See MoreReading Nook in the Living Room Bay Window
Comments (4)I already have 2 end tables on each side of the room. These tables come handy for putting my computer on them, a phone, etc. I don’t have a sofa yet but I contemplating re-designing my reading and study nook. To lounge is to be a bit more sleepy and I need to be alert for my language study and writing projects....See More4Heidesign
