Help arranging living room with diagonal wall, bay window, & fireplace

Advice definitely needed!

I'm moving to a new apartment with a lot of design features that I'm not really sure how to decorate/arrange my furniture around. In particular, the room has a long slight diagonal wall with a fireplace on it (and built in shelving) and a bay window. Unfortunately, I do not have a floor plan for the apartment, but here are some photos the landlord took for me (furniture belongs to current tenant , not me).

The wall with the fireplace is the wall that is diagonal relative to the other walls. There's also a wall you can't see in these photos, but here's another photo from a similar unit just so you have the full idea of what the room looks like.

How would you recommend placing a sofa and a love seat? Originally I was hoping to place a TV above the fire place, but I don't know if it makes sense to center the room on the diagonal wall....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! It's a cross country move, so I'm trying to have an idea of furniture placement sooner rather than later.

Here is how I would arrange it. Not having dimension, this is obviously not to scale, but gives you general idea. I'd use round features when possible to eliminate the look of the angled wall. Example: here I used a round rug and chairs. I don't know how much space is in the bay window area or if you need to place a dining table there. But, if so, this is one option of how to fit a dining table in smaller space: scoot it up to the back of the sofa.

I also do not have information on what furniture you have, but I would not use 2 sofas as the current owner is showing. I'd use one sofa and a couple of chairs, as show below.

You might consider moving the sofa to be centered in front of the window and put the chair nearer the door adding a pony wall height bookshelf (with its back to the chair), with or without doors on the entry side, between the chair and the door to create an entry; perhaps something like this: http://thegamersforce.com/ikea-glass-door-bookcase/bookshelf-inspiring-low-bookcase-with-doors-bookcase-with-doors-ikea-dark-brown-bookcase-with-glass-glass-door-ikea-bookcase-singapore-ikea-glass-door-bookcase-ikea-billy-bookcase-glass-door-instruc/ A barrister style bookcase could also work. Such a room divider would give you a place to add a lamp to the room.

I would take some painters tape and square off the room. The bay window side and the alcove side and use the square area for furniture placement. I would hold off on buying a sectional until you are absolutely certain it will work. Most often a sofa and chairs is a better purchase

Can you return it and get a smaller one? (I admit I think your fireplace wall is lovely and I personally wouldn't ruin it with a television. But I am a tiny minority who has lived without television for almost 30 years.) Is there another room in which to put it, or do you prefer to use this room for watching it?

That Mantle Mount is brilliant. I recommend it, often. If you replace the coffee table with either C-tables as suggested, or a couple of nesting end tables - or a light-colored ottoman style coffee table - your space could appear less crowded, due to the mere fact that the sizeable dark sofa, combined with the equally dark coffee table, creates a dense look; so the current setup not only takes up physical space but visual space. Without the current coffee table, there would also be the added benefit of not having a coffee table with sharp edges/corners - which is a better choice with children afoot. As one example, this trunk style ottoman could also provide some closed storage, if that feature might come in handy for you.

I would put the tv on the blank wall that is perpendicular to the fireplace wall. Face one sofa facing the tv and the other facing the fireplace.
