I have a smartparts and love it, the remote is about the size of a pack of playing cards but very thin but easy to see with large buttons, all I have to do is stick my usb thumb drive in it and upload the pictures to the frame memory, it turns off each night at a specified time and turns on in the morning at a set time, it is great and very easy to use. I really like it and would recommend it, my husband got it for me for Christmas from costco. I just got a little piece of the self stick velcro and stick the remote to the back of the frame so I don't lose it. You do not need any type of connection other than plugging it into the power. Mine is 8.4 inches which is perfect for my desk. It does the various fades in and out and auto rotation and transitions, the pics are extremely clear.

Memory sticks, memory cards, external hard drives - they all work exactly the same. You will need a card reader to put the data on your card from your computer. Many printers and some computers have built in readers, but you can buy a little one that plugs into the USB that holds your card. Some read all kinds of cards, and some are type specific. You can drag or copy anything onto the card - or just have the card in the computer in reader and save it to the card. If you have the card in your camera and have your camera hooked up to the computer, you can even use that connection to put data on your card. Some frames support digital video files. Many digital cameras take video now. I would want one that played the videos also.

I wish mine was a little larger...it's a 5 x 7 and sits in our kitchen and continually runs...(we use it like a night light!)...It's a sony and has slots for a flash drive or your cameras memory card...I have about 3,000 pictures on the flash drive so it's rare to see the same one twice... I will NEVER give up my pictures on the walls...their everywhere...some people have art...I have photographs...in all shapes and sizes... Good luck with getting them sold in a tag sale...I have tons and tons of frames inherited from my father in law and not a one has ever sold in a garage sale...for even just a dollar...people have no idea how much frames cost or just don't care to purchase them at yard sales! I do lots of my own framing and I even have a mat cutter!
