Anyone get a digital photo frame or already have one?

My DD and DIL bought me a Kodak Easy Share S510 digital photo frame for Christmas and I LOVE this thing! When they first came out, I really didn't think I'd ever want one, but I've loaded it up with pictures that I've taken over the past 5-6 years and am going to take it to work for my desk. You can leave just one picture up at a time or have it in slide show format with the duration anywhere from 3 seconds to an hour per picture.

What a great gift!!

I was very excited to get DH one for his office...but he wasn't so thrilled. That's okay; we're taking it back and he's getting a "portable game cleaning station" from Cabela's! LOL

Maybe I'll get a digital photo frame for my birthday!

I have opened and operating my digital photo frame K101. The manual is of limited help. The DPF has a USB port, and needs a USB cable with male connectors at each end. I have the cable, plugged it in, and other than providing power to the DPF, I can't see what the USB cable is for. I figured that the USB cable would allow me to use the DPF without a memory card, accessing the photos on my computer in a random or selected format. No help in the instruction manual about the use of the USB port. Can anyone help?

It depends on how the picture was taken? What resolution? What megapixel is your camera and did you shoot at the highest resolution? How large do you want your print? Screen resolution and print resolution are very different. I could view a print on line at 72dpi and it would look great. Don't try to print at that resolution tho. It would be best to print at 300dpi but I've been pleased with 5x7s at 250dpi. Walmart digital printing (on line) will warn you if you try to upload a photo and print at a size and resolution that's less than optimum. Monica

Shea. .a digital picture frame allows you to view about as many pictures as your heart desires by showing them as a slide show. The frames come in many sizes, as well as keychains. I, personally like to download my pictures on an SD card, it goes into a slot on the back of the picture frame. Rather then download them right to the frame. It is easier to me anyway, to take the sd card out to add more pictures to it. I have a 2G card in my frame and it will hold over 1000 pictures. My husband has one at work on his desk with about 300 pictures on it. I gave my mother in law one for Christmas last year with pictures from the time she was a little girl up till now. It's a great way to display and view pictures with limited space for regularly framed pictures. Walmart has working ones on display if you want to see exactly what they look like working. I have a 10" on in my kitchen but some day I'm going to have a 19" one on the wall. They really are not complicated at all. You just put the blank sd card into your computer and download the pictures you want onto the card, then plug the card into the back of the frame and turn it on. .They really are wonderful.. .any other questions? . .debbie

Glenda - mine doesn't have a way to save the pictures to the frame - you insert a memory card that you load with pictures and it reads the pictures from the memory card. I haven't really looked at any of these so I'm not sure if some of the others have a built in hard drive where you can download pictures to the frame or not.

I bought two as gifts. One for my DS #1 and one for DS #3's girlfriend. DS loves his and has it sitting on the kitchen counter, but plans to take it to his office after the holidays. DIL loves it and wants to keep it at home, LOL. His has an internal memory. So you put the memory stick in and it loads to the frame. The one I got for the girlfriend doesn't have an internal memory. So the card has to stay in the frame.

I bought Bob one for Christmas. I had already loaded it with grand kids and doggie pictures via a memory stick before giving it to him. He loves it.

We bought all the kids a keychain one. I sat one night for HOURS finding all the pics (up to 64 each!) that I wanted to put on them, and then loading them. We had them open that gift at the same time....it was so much fun to watch them looking through their pics. There were pics anywhere from birth to last week on them.

I got one for my DH for Christmas, and I got one for my DS for his birthday. As I said, we haven't celebrated our holidays yet, so they don't know yet, but I think that they will both love them. I am getting my dd one for her birthday in June. I think that they are very nice. They will all love them.

We bought one for the motorhome last April. We love it. Bought 3 of them for gifts for Christmas. Actually... they were on back order and weren't supposed to be in until after Christmas. We had to go buy something else for gifts then got a call to say they were in. Decided to give them next year and then DH kept one for us for the house. You can put music on the one for the house. How cool.

Well that is so awesome that there are so many different varities, and some include music! I also love the keychain idea.

I have so many photos from trips, the Dallas Arboretum, grandsons ........ now I can enjoy them all day while I'm working.

I got the same one for christmas. I just love it.
I have our christmas pictures on a slideshow.

Now I want a bigger one that holds music, too.

These things are so neat.
