Stacie, I'm sorry to hear you've had such a lousy day. Boy, do I remember the "disagreements" my dh and I had when we had young ones, especially babies. You're both so darned tired that everything seem more overwhelming than it might otherwise. Don't worry too much, it'll blow over and just become a funny memory, though it seems anything but funny right now! I've learned over the last couple of decades to just leave my dh alone when he's ticked, and he soon comes around. I'm sure your dh will feel badly about having expected you to have taken care of it.

So, your DH (and I don't mean "dear") expected YOU, who has been very uwell of late with a hard pregnancy and now a newborn, and four little ones to care for in addition to not being physically in great shape, to pack up these four kiddies and trek down to re-register HIS vehicle? And then, having noticed the registration is expired, how is it YOUR fault he chose to drive it anyway?
I think you need to go over to the stepfamily forum and ask to borrow the lamp. Then smack that man upside the head with it.

I am sorry you are going through this. I have a hot temper and would have told him to stick his truck where the sun don't shine and start taking responsibility for his own stuff. You have 4 kids to take care of and you sure don't need a 5th. He can get mad and he can get glad. Just don't answer him back when he wants to fight. He will soon get tired of talking to himself. Years down the road you will look back and laugh at situations like this. Right now he is being very childish.

For heavens sake...tell your DH to put his big boy pants on and grow up. I would bet dollars to doughnuts the person he's really mad at is himself, but he's just too darn stubborn to admit it. He has to vent to someone so you're it.
I'm sure he'll come to his senses and you'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving (you could always whack him over the head with the turkey...frozen one, that is).

I have to agree with the above posters..he lashed out at you for his own irresponsibilities. You know what? Men will always take as much as you are willing to give. You need to unload a bunch of duties you've had and delegate them to him! It's a full time job with your babies, etc-make HIM deal with the paperwork from now on.
As for today..we must be thankful for where we are, what we have, where we live and that we're being protected by our Armed Forces. Enjoy the rest of your family today-ignore your hubs & let him 'get over it' on his own time-

Some of my friends and I have a saying. Just remember these initials. MSATAS. Simple. Men suck and they are stupid. (Not ALWAYS, but for sure, sometimes.) And it's true, they just don't stop to think sometimes. (Like yesterday when a certain one that I know was getting all the dogs excited and was about to let the one that JUST got home from the hospital run around like a banshee with him, even though she's wearing a huge bandage, is on pain-meds and just had major surgery on one front foot! See? It's true. Sometimes, MSATAS!)

I think you should go ahead and write him 10 more tickets today, for any little infractions that you can think of. Make a joke out of it because it IS funny and it's not the end of his world and ultimately, in the grand scheme of things, a ticket is so not worth fighting about unless it's for a DUI or something. This is piddly. Write him up for being a baby! lol I hope you have a better day than expected, sweetie.

Twice, twice!! I got stopped and ticketed because DH got the tags, but didn't put them on. The last time, we were getting ready to move to Montana. He had gotten the tags, but took them with him when he went ahead of us to start his new job. I got stopped by a woman hiway patrol officer when my son and I were going to pick up the U-haul truck. I explained to her what happened and she said she was sorry that she had to ticket me, but suggested that when I did get to Montana.....I should toss him off a mountain! Ha! Now when we get the tags. I nag him or put them on myself right away. Dottie

I backed out last night too...LOL...I think I'll just stay backed out.

I have driven with expired registration and inspections, and I always seem to get "caught". Once I was driving my daughter to work and a state trooper at the road exit caught me. I think the ticket was about $125.

Stacie, I agree with the others. He's got a nerve being mad. It's his truck, and his job to license it. It's not like your setting around eating bon bons all day watching soaps on TV.

Stacie, for you to get his tags replaced, wouldn't you have to get a power of attorney signed first, then go back and get the tags? You do in Ohio. We have to sign for them, and it has to be the signiture of the person to whom the vehicle is registered. For me that would mean two trips to the DMV. Yep, his responsibility.

I thought I had renewed mine in April, just before we left for Utah. I didn't! In August, I got followed thru town by the sherrif. I couldn't figure out why he stopped me! Here, with getting ready to leave, and having plated the new motor home, I thought I had done it! He was nice enough not to give me a ticket. He said "You are going right now to get them, right?" I said, " as soon as I pick up my son from work" He said" You are going right now, right?" I said, Yes sir!. He knew what I was going to do, but as long as I gave him the answer he wanted, he was satisfied!
