Oh wow, I'm so sorry for your circumstances! I will definitely pray....remember; Praise Him in the storms....he is still there even if you can't feel Him. I know it will all work out for you Deeby! This could be a blessing in disguise. (you couldn't even get away for a hour or so of church!?)

Were you registered with any company that does this kind of work? Did you get any certificate/schooling to show you are trained for this? Could you go to a medical center/hospital/assit living/nursing home to work? There are places in low income housing where you can live and the rent is according to your income

Thank you, Shirley and Juellie. No, I couldn't get someone to stay two hours or less. Caregivers want longer hours. I listen to my Pastor online, but it's sure not the same as being in church.

I need a roof over my head before I can do hourly work. I'm not worried about hourly at all. I can't apply for an apartment because now I'm not working and there's no current check stubs. I refuse to lie to get a place. I have some money saved and could make three payments in advance. Please keep praying !

And, feeling worn out as you are, will add to the pressure ... or the perceived pressure, at least.

I would think if that has been your home for over 2 years, that you would have to be served an eviction notice. Around here the eviction notice is for 30 days but can be stretched to 90 days if you can show that you were not able to find affordable housing. Check the laws where you live and good luck.

By the description, it sounds like Deeby was given a place to stay as part of the compensation for work as a caregiver. The person died and her services are no longer required. If that's how it is, it's not an eviction because she wasn't paying rent. It's a job termination with about 10 days notice. She can clarify the facts.

Too bad the heirs or whoever is managing these affairs want to move on so quickly. Did the person die unexpectedly?

Thank you all. No heirs. Her house and assets go to a masonic lodge place. I was shocked to learn that. I thought everything would go to the nieces. True, an employee has no tenant's rights.

I am sure what Snidely said is true, but what about the recent case of the nanny who wouldn't leave? She stopped doing her duties and the family fired her but she wouldn't leave. I think she stayed for months! Not sure how it ended.
I just feel there has be some way for Deeby to be able to stay longer.
Deeby, I know you want the trailer, but I can't help but agree with Marie that there are other options that might be better in the long run.

Check around for some apartments. Not all require active check stubs if you can prove you have a sufficient balance in your checking/savings. It sounds like you have a little saved up.

Another option to consider - Craigslist has a "looking for room" section where you can rent a room in a house. People are usually more flexible with rent proof than corporations. Just be cautious. I've found roommates on Craigslist multiple times.

Also, I remember you talking about having an appointment with social security this fall about benefits on your ex. I assume you did that? If you are able to collect that might help you prove income for an apartment. If you have been caregiving and paying taxes the last 30 years you should have a decent amount coming to you.

The ex is in England and will be hard to locate and drag back here and that's IF he's living. A room won't do-there are five of us-three rabbits and two cats. All of my loved ones are gone. These five are my family. And we need PRAYER. Thank you !

Sorry, I am not really religious but I guess you aren't looking for advice. There are a lot of options out there if you just give them some consideration and effort. Good luck. I hope your prayers are answered.

If you have local churches you are affiliated with contact them asap. Very often they can be helpful in these situations. A lady I know had a very similar situation, live in care giver, she went to her church and spoke with them about her urgent situation, they were able to help her locate housing with in days. Even if it were temporary that would give you more time to get things in order. Don't just jump into the purchase of a trailer because you are in a pinch, you may end up in a much worse situation if you end up with a money pit! Especially for a used trailer, major things can go wrong. Have extensive inspections done before committing to anything or signing anything.
I have seen people jump into a situation like this and end up in a huge costly mess.

I wish you well, use your resources, church, agencies, Craigslist, temp agencies. Go to the local trailer parks and ask about rental units and assume payment options all most all large parks have several of these options. It's not advertised but is often listed on bulletin boards at the parks.

I knew a young girl just out of school and looking for a cheap place to live, she had a job but not a big salary. I suggested that to her and drove her to one near her work. They had several options, with extremely affordable rates. She had no credit history or savings since she was just starting out and was able to get signed up for a very nice 2 bedroom trailer that day and was moved in with in the week.
Check all the options.

Prayers for you. Yes, do contact churches. They are so much help in times like this. Who knows, there might be some elderly lady that might like to have someone live with her for company and companionship. There are a lot of lonely people and although they do not need a caregiver, they do want someone there in case they might fall or get sick and need someone to call for help. I lived with a widowed lady who was my age for 9 months while I waited for my carpenter and built my house. We had a great time..someone to visit with, cook with, etc. I think churches would be a better bet than Craigslist...that can be risky!

If I were you, I would not rush into buying a trailer....it might just be a money pit...there might be a much better option just waiting for you to find it. Good luck and God bless.
