Bobby ~ I like your fabrics! The diagonal stripe would make a good looking binding! You can wash Fat Quarters. I swish them around in a big bowl of hot water with a drop of Dawn & a small piece of a Color Catcher. That way you see if they are going to bleed (put like colors together)and you get to wash out all the sizing and see how good or bad the fabric really is. I blot on a towel, then dry on high heat in the dryer altogether. You will have to starch & iron them before you begin your project (hmmmm, which iron to use?:) Definitely a good purchase. You can practice with these and make some placemats and potholders and kitty quilts if the fabric turns out not to wash well.

Home Goods is owned by TJ Maxx (Marshalls, etc) -- the bargains are sometimes not really bargains. Other posters have covered its good points. Tuesday AM is very, very hit or miss. They are, IMO, the single best source for very upscale bed sheets on a downscale budget -- usually have a good selection of 500+ thread count Italian linen sheets for under $100/set. Nice selection of xmas wrap & ornaments in season. Other than that, it's sort of an upscale Pic & Save or Big Lots -- occasional great deals from well known mfrs closing out stuff, lots of junk, very disorganized. I go there for new sheets.

Anytime, Any Kind Muffins Ingredients 6 Cups old Fashioned Oats 5 cups all purpose flour 2 cups very hot water 1 cup shortening, melted (such as Crisco, can substitute melted butter) 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 4 cups buttermilk 5 teaspoons baking soda 2 teaspoons cinnamon 2 teaspoons salt Instructions For each batch, you can add 1/2 cup mix ins to one cup of batter. Mix in ideas are: Blueberries, chocolate chips, sliced almonds, walnuts, chopped pecans, diced apples, dried cranberries or cherries, other dried fruit or berries, chopped banana In a medium bowl, place 2 cups oats and hot water. Stir and set aside. Place all remaining dry ingredients into a large bowl or dishpan. Stir to combine. Form a well in the center and crack eggs into the well while beating them lightly with a spoon. Add milk and stir batter well with large spoon until well combined. Melt shortening or butter and pour into hot oat mixture, stir. Pour hot oats into batter and stir again until well combined. Cover and refrigerate at least overnight. To make 4 muffins muffins: 1 cup of muffin mix makes approximately 4 muffins. To every cup, add about 1/2 cup of mix ins such as berries, chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit. See post above for more ideas. To make only one muffin, use 1/4 cup batter and approximately 2 tablespoons mix ins. Bake in greased muffin tin or a muffin tin lined with cupcake papers at 400 for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Batter keeps for up to a month. Prepared muffins freeze well as does batter. Makes approximately 60 muffins. Batter can easily be halved. Sue

we have close to the same weather north of you...need to get showered and mail a letter to a cyber pal whose mia (sewing for craft fair) and after lunch, want to do wal mart walking today... we have a nut tree in our yard, but not sure what kind (does have green hulls)..last year had tons, this year next to nothing..sure hope the tree is ok...and here in the "city" we have an apple tree that was visited last evening by a deer! i mean we live on a 40 mph street..my cat was out watching it feed on fallen apples thinking that's the biggest "dog" i've ever seen, lol... dh has a 4 day work week (forced one day a month off) but we're going to bronners christmas store, this time...still searching to replace lost christmas stockings...and i hope the outlet mall nearby for shoes...
