It's like the joke, when your coffee needs coffee only for gardeners....lol

On our first trip to Maui we drove to Lahaina to have lunch. I brought along a pillowcase with some underwear, hoping to find a laundromat. We found a lot where cars were parked behind one another and gave the keys to the attendant, as we would have done at home in Chicago. Uh-huh. There was no attendant. After lunch, when we reported our missing car to the police they were dumbfounded that we'd give up the car keys. The rental company was astounded, and they refused to rent us a replacement car. (A rival company had no problem.) The police only had to follow a trail of undergarments thrown out of the car along the road north to Kapalua to find our abandoned rental.

My DH is the surviving beneficiary on an insurance policy his father took out nearly 100 years ago when he served in WWI. DH received $1.89 monthly starting in 1949. (His mother selected that option thinking it would keep him in comic books.) We had to move heaven and earth to get the government to at least consolidate this into an annual check; only proof of his death will stop it. Don't you wonder how many other similar checks are issued where there's no 'sunset' when costs exceed benefit?
