Did they make a mistake?

Mine are mounted on the deck.

Were there holes in the tub for the faucet, etc., or did they make them?

I might try out the smaller one to see if you like it better in person. In comparison the cost of a build, an extra faucet is worth feeling good about the end results.

No, they didn't make a mistake. The tub I bought is different then what I photoshopped. The faucets are to go on the tub.. I just never realized it.

So, do you think it looks funny? Would it be better with the lower faucet? They aren't in stock and I'd have to order it and overnight it as well... so I can't really try it out (plus they have already mounted the high arch).

I think you have too many virtual images for any of us to be able to make good suggestions for you. The tub is photoshopped and the faucets photoshopped? Here's my suggestion - leave it as it and get a true picture of what's there to post. Even if it means having to live with it for a while to get a real sense of how it looks, a faucet can be changed out later. Yes, you may have to call back a plumber (if you don't think you can do it yourself) but it's not a huge undertaking and then you aren't rushing to make a decision and paying overnight shipping costs.

While I prefer it to be mounted on the tub deck, I don't think it looks bad. I wouldn't change the faucet. The high arc looks more substantial in a Master Bath than the other lower profile faucet. Just my early morn' .02

Okay, I don't mean to hijack, but I have a similar tub going in and I have the faucets on the inside, against the wall. I know I'll have to reach, but how does one decided which is worse...reaching over to operate the thing or trying to climb over it without getting goosed?

If the proportion in your photoshop is correct, I would switch out to the lower faucet. It will give a more elegant profile on the front edge of the tub. If the faucet were mounted on the deck toward a corner, then perhaps the high arc would make more sense.

Actually, I dont like either faucet. The first one does look too big and the second one looks like it belongs on a sink. I think because of the placement, those faucets arent good choices for your tub. Here is a picture of our previous master bath, this picture shows the faucet I am talking about, however, they mounted the faucet on the opposite side of the hot and cold....smart idea. Our current home they are mounted together like where yours are mounted. Our new home has the same faucet as the old, but this picture was on the computer for me to upload. While its not my favorite faucet, it is less noticable and looks pretty good on these tubs.

Our previous MBa had a siimilar faucet to gk's above, but the faucet was mounted on the near side by the knobs --- I suspect that's so you don't have to stretch across to test the water as you're getting the temp right for the inflow. Since you're set with that location for your faucet, you'll adjust to getting in around it. (Our current one happens to be in the front corner on the rim, which is easier, but not essential). I also think you might want to wait and take real pics of it since you said you can't return it anyway. BTW, the bathroom will be beautiful!

P.S Here are a couple pics of other similar mounts for the faucet and they used high ones also. Maybe seeing these will help you feel better about yours, since I think these look great.

It looks a bit odd to me but I think it's because of the photoshopping. Is it actually in the center of the side of the tub? Are you sure you want it placed in that location? Won't it get in the way climing in and out and even cleaning the tub? How about if you're bathing a child or dog? I thought I wanted mine installed on the tub but DH begged me to let him place them on the deck. I would have gotten a little higher arch (which I wanted) but it's fine. I don't understand how it's not too late tho. You've got holes drilled into the tub. Ohhh, I guess they'll cap them. Would you be happy with that?

I didnt realize you had photoshoped in the faucet and tub...guess I read it too fast. After seeing the previous posts, I do like the tall necks. Someone made a good comment about it getting in the way if you are bathing kids. I bathed my kids in my tub many times and it wasnt an issue with the flat faucet. Does your tub already have the cut outs? If not what about your original faucet but in the corner next to the sink. It would be easy to get to, yet out of the way?

sujfr - i'm wondering where you got that first picture you posted? that is the exact vanity & mirrors that I have. I'd love to see more pictures of that bathroom.

op, if the faucet is already installed on the tub, i do not see how it can be changed? holes have been drilled through the tub already for the plumbing.

I prefer the height and elegance of the arc myself, although its proportions would probably be a bit better if mounted on the deck. I think it also looks a bit focal now because the room is incomplete, without the height of other tall accessories like mirrors, pics, lights, etc. to balance it out. Would you be switching out the faucets also? It doesn't really look like you have to crawl over it with the corner as it is.

I do love the idea of the waterfall faucet, though : )

Thanks everyone, the photo's DO help. The faucets are installed as I mentioned, so this is the placement they will have to remain (they never asked me - and I never realized that they would just put them here. I would have preferred it mounted on the deck, and would have indicated that if I knew they were about to install.. but it's too late. The only options I have is to go to the lower neck, which I am not really that found of, - or the waterfall faucet (great suggestion!!). I think though... after seeing sujafr pictures, I'll live with them a while and see how I feel. They do make the sick faucet and maybe once everything is in it's place.. it will come together.I will take a picture of the actual tub and faucet tomorrow and post it so that you can see the real thing.
