Help - advice needed for tables, lighting and rug!!!
Comments (6)Definitely a light rug with texture would work. Because of the metal pieces, I would suggest lamps that are organic like beautiful pottery in gourd shapes to soften the look of the room which I think is delightful but you asked for opinions to make a change. The end tables are nice but I think a table that is a tad bit lighter in wood tone and maybe a bit more bulk would look better with the larger lamps....See MoreNeed help selecting coffee table and rug
Comments (2)Love the silver coffee table! The rug is too similar in texture to the sofa and won’t look as cohesive. I love the pop of color. Something like this would look great! https://www.westelm.com/m/products/verve-rug-t3653/?sku=1289326&pkey=crugs-flooring&isx=0.0...See MoreNeed 8x10 rug, coffee table, extra seating for Living Room
Comments (11)Your bookcase has a 60’s vibe and a tan leather sofa is not quite beachy either so I would head towards a relaxed, eclectic look with durable and fun pieces. Aim for light and airy and I would lighten the paint color. Suggest a durable and interesting rug and it will set the direction of the room and will help with your furniture and accessory choices. I would wait until you get possession so you can better access the best layout and needs, ie: round or square coffee table, number and size of chairs, lighting/side tables or a floor lamp, etc With a tan couch, I wouldn’t use dark choices in seating and accessories if you want to achieve a beachy look...See MoreDoes my living room need a rug and coffee table?
Comments (17)Some people find it a huge faux pas to put a TV over a fireplace. Some people swear they can't be comfortable for viewing over a fireplace, your neck will explode from the agony, the TV itself will explode into a ball of flames from the heat from the FP, and people entering your home for the first time will shriek in horror at your set up ..... None of that has been my actual, real life experience - currently have a TV over a fireplace in 2 homes. They both work just fine. Use a tilt-able mount as having them angled downward is a must (or use the adjustable mount so that you can pull it down while watching and then push it back up when done.) No one has died, no one has shrieked in horror, still using the same TV for 8 years in one house (so, so much for the "the TV will never last!" line), and I like the way it looks. If that makes me a lowbrow lowlife, so be it....See MoreRelated Professionals
