TV Show Rules Of Engagement set

First there was the set of Friends.

Then there was the set of Desperate Housewives.

The movie Somethings Gotta Give.

Now while I doubt that this set will reach the levels of viewer fascination & critique as the other's, I must say that I really like the apartment of the married couple. It's like an updated version of the blue & brown walls & white trim that has been so popular the past how many yrs. now.

Is their LR Silver Sage or one of the many other close color matches that we've often talked about so much here? I like the choice of the very creamy, almost tan trim instead of the usual stark white we've been looking at for about forever paired w/ those colors.

And the rm. leading off of the LR - is that a close color to SW Blonde or Restrained Gold that I spy? Could it be BM Desert Tan or Cork?

I like how traditionally it's decorated but for a young hip NY couple. The touches of red. Could this easily be duplicated in any one of our homes?

Mostly I love all of the pictures on the walls. Mixed frames, mixed mat colors, mixed black & white & color along w/ a mix of mediums and photography - all shown together as a massive collection. I love things on the wall!

So does anyone else have opinions on the set decor? What have you noticed?

I've never seen the show. Will have to tune in at least once and check it out.

What I have done however (driving DH crazy) is obsess about design elements of other shows.

I've asked a designer friend about the sofa on Frasier to use in my old house. After much sleuthing on my part I found out it was a reproduction Coco Chanel.

Then there was a very short-lived show on a few years back. I think it had John Laroquette and Christine Baranski in it. Loved their French style kitchen (awning like window treatments) and the window seats in the living room.

Kept poking DH during the Bernie Mac show about things in their house, especially the flooring.

Lately I've been looking at the wall colors on House (lousy season ending episode IMO).

OH MY GOD, did you see the episode taped in their bathroom? I fell in love with that shower curtain!!

And yes, I totally think that's silver sage in their living room.

Yesterday I did the following measurements. I measured the current draw of the electric clutch. When I first pulled the switch, the belt did not move, but the clutch did make its typical noise and did draw 4.2A. I tried a few more times and the belt did not move. I then manually moved the snow blower belt as I described in my earlier posts. I tried to pull the switch again and still no movement of the belt. After a couple more times the belt finally started to move, also slowly for a brief moment, then reaching normal speed slightly after (as I described in an earlier post). During the moving belt condition, the current draw was the same, 4.2A. It seamed that if I disengaged the switch after the belt has been moving and then pulled the switch shortly after, the belt would move almost every time. But if I waited a bit longer, the belt didn't move. I also removed the snow blower belt and when I pulled the switch, the belt would move every time. Also, with the snow blower belt removed, I measured a current draw of 4.2A every time I pulled the switch. I also did as BriggsGalaxieman suggested and bypassed the PTO switch by hooking the electric clutch directly to the battery when I wanted to engage the clutch. By doing this, the performance did not change. I tried a few times. The belt never moved, but the clutch made the same sound as if I pulled the switch. I did not bother trying to produce a moving belt measurement because I'm confident that it's the same. I also did a measurement of the current draw over a time of about 20 minutes. The current draw slowly drifted from 4.2A down to 3.7A, where it seamed to stabilize. During this measurement, I did disengage and engage the clutch a few times, just to see if there were any other levels to be aware of. I would also like to mention that the performance of the electric clutch was the same from the time the tractor first starts up, to being fully warmed up. I also removed the snow blower attachment and belt to have another look. I manually moved the second stage blower section and observed the augers moving. I could not see anything that would cause a lockup of the belt. I also checked out that adapter section that interfaces the electric clutch with the snow blower belt. Everything moves pretty smooth there too. My previous measurement with the snow blower belt removed also proves this section is working perfectly. My next move is to remove the clutch and use the manual that mownie sent me, to see if I can make any improvements.

I really like Body of Proof until the new shows started a couple of months ago. Dana Delaneys character was just becoming very mean and her attitude was being written as to be so condescending. I stopped watched it. You knew CSI:NY was gone because of the way the season finale was written with them all on the roof chatting. It was the same way CSI:Miami finished up their season with everyone having a drink at the bar. I'm glad Bones and Big Bang Theory are back. The new show Ironside - is that a remake of the old show starring Raymond Burr?

Thanks, Teresa. Would love to see photos of your home. I'll have to do a search later. Squirrel, it is antique pine. I do not cut directly on the counter at all. When needed, I use a cutting boards either on the island or next to the range. Don't cut directly on the granite either. We are good about wiping away water splatters after washing hands or dishes. I have never left a glass sitting on the counter overnight, so I don't know what that would do. The guys just asked me about that when they were here installing the tv cover. The pine is finished with Good Stuff for Wood which is FDA approved for food prep surfaces. I order from the below link. Have only recoated twice in 27mths. This is Margie. I got her from the "North Shore Animal League." I've had her for years, and she's my very best friend. Well, Joe said. We had 3 identical dogs and the third went missing. It looked an awful lot like yours. That's impossible, Gomer stated. I bought and paid for her. They were "Absolutely Fabulous" there. We've been together for so long, that "As Time Goes By" she is more and more a part of me. They then wondered if Margie was stolen from them, but ended up at the "Long Shore Animal Rescue." Regardless Margie belongs to Gomer and he couldn't wait to get to "Mayberry" to be among his "Friends" again.

Speaking of set designs, etc., I LOVE the dining table chairs in Gabby's house on Desperate Housewives, and in the season finale the other night, I got to see more than just a glimpse--Carlos and Gabby sat in them during conversations, so I studied them. I'd love to have them in my house! Anyone else see them? Wonder how I find out about them?......

I do like that apartment on Rules of Engagement.

It's an oldie, but I love the Halliwell house on Charmed. I love the kitchen and the sun room. Plus the bedrooms.

The production designer, Bernie Vyzga, has been nominated for a couple of Emmys, and he works frequently with the same set decorators.

This seems to be a very old thread but I'm here so I'll give it a shot.... there is a painting/photo hanging on Jeff & Audry's wall (on Rules of Engagement) just to the left of their apartment door (right side from viewer angle, left if you were walking through the door).

It looks like a young girl with some sort of scarf around her head, something similar anyhow...

Anyways, my wife had always LOVED the image & I'm looking for it to get for her but I don't know the artist or the name of the painting....

Any help would be AMAZING & APPRECIATED!

In Jen and Adam's apartment there is what appears to be a wooden cut out of a lady. Salt and pepper shakers usually block a full view. It has lettering at the bottom but all I can make out are the last two...RE. Looks like maybe Betty Crocker, any ideas?
