Kitty, Thank you for asking. As I had posted previously, I was able to work with the powers that be and move most of the easement work off my garden beds. However, this whole situation had spawned a true discussion between my DH and I. He had suggested selling our current urban .25 acres to get something bigger when all of this was happening and even though this crisis was averted, we talked it over and decided we were still going to sell the house and look for more acreage. I was coming close to not having enough garden space and this place would need major changes to make it what we wanted. We both travel for work and thus have hotel rooms paid for us year round. So we are selling this house and then looking to buy some land and build, living in hotels in the mean time. Thus unfortunately I had to cancel/postpone my huge spring orders and have to move a large portion of my garden to my mother-in-laws for the time being while we prepare to sell. I am confident however that it means that I will have much more land to garden within the next year. Keep your fingers crossed for me and once again, thank you for everyones advice and support. You all are the absolute best and I could not describe the happiness this forum brings me. Thank you.

My first goal is to get my plants moved from the old house to the new one. We moved from PA to Denver in 2007 and have been renting since then. I don't think I have been on GardenWeb since we moved. I did bring a bunch of things with me that first spring. This spring we are buying a house not too far from where we have been renting. I need to dig a holding bed as soon as we close and start moving my stuff. I have a few things I would like to find a permanent home for before digging (like lavender) but most things just need to stay alive. Also the house needs paint so I won't be doing any foundation beds until after that happens. I hope to spend spring and summer digging and mulching and preparing for next spring. Oh, and there are fruit trees. :) We'll have apple, pear and plum. I think one of the apples is going to be a bit of a sacrificial victim of my learning to prune. Really I don't think I could make it worse short of killing it. The last two years I've been only barely motivated to do any gardening. Getting ready to buy this place and have my very own yard to do with as I please has really brought my energy and interest levels back up. :)

Looks like DTV is trying; they added a Disney Jr channel today; also did something with baseball. I'm liking Viacom less & less every day... On its own page, Viacom took a bit of a cheap shot Wednesday afternoon, posting an image of Nickelodeon cartoon favorite SpongeBob SquarePants with this text: "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? I don't know. I have DirecTV." DTV If this dispute were over pennies, it wouldnt be happening. We dont think a $1 billion bonus to buy channels whose ratings are faltering is any pittance. Contrary to what Viacom has been saying, they indeed have been at the center of many programming disputes in the past with Time Warner Cable, Brighthouse Networks, and DISH. Do these spots ring any bells? They sound familiar to us A lot has changed in the seven years since Viacom and DIRECTV last renewed their agreement. More than 5.2 million more families have come to DIRECTV, making it the most popular video provider in the Americas with 19.9 million homes in the U.S. alone. Ratings for many of Viacoms networks have plummeted and Viacom has shunned its pay television businesses to become one of the most prolific providers of free Internet video. Sanford Bernstein reports the one out of every five former Nickelodeon families are watching online. DIRECTV will always pay fair market value for any service, but when performance declines, youre not entitled to a huge raise. Just ask the families were trying to serve. DIRECTV will do what it takes to defend our customers when we believe programmers are trying to take advantage of them. Some channel owners feel theyre entitled to get exorbitant raises every year, even when the value of their programming doesnt warrant it. Whether its Viacom or anyone else, when they try to extract more money from their viewers without justification, they shouldnt be surprised when we push back.

Actually, the quintessential steampunk piece is a modern computer decked out to look like a 19th century device. I met a guy profiled in the Boston Globe who has a steampunk house, and whose kitchen was featured here once. He was selling a cast iron Victorian stove that had been outfitted with a barely-discernable electric cooktop. It's not so much working Rube Goldberg contraptions as it is window dressing on modern technology. I think of it as a stage set in search of a story. Let's say Steampunk is a definite one month from now, as the project that follows the next one. For the very next one to start this weekend, I'm thinking Hollywood Regency, based on an unscientific review of the preference lists people have posted so far. I would sort of like to do the setup for Steampunk, so if you'd rather I not do two in a row, I can happily defer to pal on the HR project. Thoughts?

We enjoyed Touch but didn't see where they could go with it. The following, glad to see it will comeback. We also liked Red Widow but figured it wouldn't make it. Sorry to hear about Southland though.

They cancelled some of my favorites: Body of Proof, CSI: NY, Vegas, and Touch.

Of the new shows, the one I'm most interested in didn't make this list. It is "King and Maxwell" on TNT (premiering June 10), based on David Baldacci's books. It is starring Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn as former Secret Service agents who become private investigators. The books were great, so I'm hoping the show will be also.

Wanda, I hadn't heard about that show but I'm a big Baldacci fan. I like Rizzoli & Isles on TNT & loved The Closer. I'll have check into King & Maxwell.

I am glad the CW wised up and decided to listen to the people and keep Hart of Dixie, we love that show.
Will have to watch for that show King and Maxwell, my husband loves him as an author and reads all his books.
Glad Nashville made it but really hate they cut Touch I liked that show, I like anything that Keifer is in he is such a great actor.

Thank goodness it looks like Justified on the FX is continued! One of our fave shows, by the awesome writer Elmore Leonard and staring the hunky Timothy Olyphant, love that show.

I really like Body of Proof until the new shows started a couple of months ago. Dana Delaneys character was just becoming very mean and her attitude was being written as to be so condescending. I stopped watched it.

You knew CSI:NY was gone because of the way the season finale was written with them all on the roof chatting. It was the same way CSI:Miami finished up their season with everyone having a drink at the bar.

I'm glad Bones and Big Bang Theory are back. The new show Ironside - is that a remake of the old show starring Raymond Burr?

yes Ironside is based on the same characters and he will still be in a wheelchair, reminds me of Lincoln Rhymes who we love.

We liked Golden Boy; especially talented is the main character's black, more senior partner. He is really good and I hope gets cast in something else next season.

I liked Vegas too. And while I have watched Touched this year, I think it would have trouble going on and on with the direction it is taking.

I'll miss Rules of Engagement (CBS) and Smash (NBC). Rules of Engagement is just silly fun, and I love Jeff, one of the main characters.

Smash has a couple gals on it that my daughter knows from the OC High School of the Arts where she attended school and American Idol's Katherine McPhee along with some pretty big names.
