I didn't want this to get lost in the hilarious thread because I thought it might help some of you.

All you ladies who hold your purse strap in your mouth, let me tell you what I used to do and still do whenever I take my purse with me. I went to Lowe's and bought a large S hook to keep in my purse. When I needed to go to the restroom in a public place I took the S hook out of my purse and hooked it over the door and hooked the handle of my purse on the other end of it.

Last year I found something at Walgreens in the " As seen on TV " area. It is a pretty little purse hook that is supposed to fit on the edge of a table and hang down with a hook to hold your purse while eating in a restaurant. I bought one and it works, but I didn't feel comfortable with my purse hanging from the table. It seemed like it would be easy to snatch from there. I did try the little hook thingie in a restroom. I wasn't sure if it work on a bathroom door or not, but it did. The only problem is that one end of it unscrews; I don't know why, but it does and it kept coming apart in my purse. I'm back to using my S hook.

Linda just be careful hooking your purse on the door of somewhere like a highway rest area. People know we do this and reach in a steal your purse.
RE: the end unscrews~stop by your favorite mechanic and ask him to put on some red locktite. We use it in the shop on bolts that should never come out.

I'd be afraid to do that. Someone in my husband's family had her purse stolen from a fine resort rest room when she hung it on the hook on the stall door. She lost a lot in that purse.

You need to get the bird to a wildlife rehabber who does birds right away. You can feed it crickets or mealworms or waxworms from a pet store until you locate one in your area. even scrambled eggs or fruit will do. Are you sure it's a Bluebird? Do you have any other nests with babies this age. Cathy

I have refrained from commenting because I do not have children, (1 stepdaughter) but I think what he did deserves a little praise. I read the link that Wildchild provided above and he sounds to me like a pretty great dad. His methods may not suit all, but he obviously knows his kid and what works with her. He has repeatedly made his comments and replies strictly through his facebook page. He has turned down many, many requests for interviews because he 1. does not want him or his daughter to profit in any way from this. And 2. Wants his words to remain his...not be edited to say something twisted. I clearly remember some pretty harsh punishment when I was a belligerent teen. I was never physically disciplined, but I remember as if it was yesterday how mad my father was and I never wanted to cross that line again...and never did. I love my father dearly as I know he loves me. I survived and grew to have a much deeper respect for parenting. (he and Mom raised 6 girls!) I think this man may have acted a little irrational, shooting her computer but certainly turned it into a teachable moment. I dont care if it could have been donated or not...it was their property, their punishment. I applaud him for the act of following through with his discipline. ( I think this is where many drop the ball and kids know it) He and his daughter I believe have bonded over this experience. As he mentioned...she will never again doubt his commitment to following through on doing what he says he will do. (good or bad)

They newer photos of your paint look pretty close to my kitchen and family room walls. :-) Don't worry about the mini-novel. It's the cheapest therapy there is, and if you can get a laugh in here or there, pretty good medicine too. You're doin' good!

I'm careful and very vigilant when in a public restroom. I usually do not even carry a purse with me and when I do I am always glad to find a stall with a toilet tissue holder that isn't broken because I can put my purse on it. When those options aren't available I use the S hook. If I hear or see other feet in the restroom my hand is on my purse. I feel that it is a much cleaner and safer way to store my purse than sitting it on the floor and I don't think my dentures would be strong enough to hold my purse in my mouth. :)
