Where's Lou?

I haven't been here very often, due to well, just life, I guess! But I have noticed that Lou has not been posting. Does anyone know where he has been? Vacation..maybe?? Gina

I wondered the same. I think I asked that question on another thread that I expected him to join, maybe the one about cannoli, I can't remember. I did a search for his name to see when he last posted but didn't find anything that provided any insight as to where he is.

Lou? Hope all is OK and you're too busy cooking to check in.

Lou and I had some correspondence, I think he was feeling uncomfortable here. Plus he was busy with some remodeling work for family.

I'm sure he would be please that he has been missed.

I've been thinking on your dilemma before I answered. The cheapest & quickest way is to buy a heavy duty outdoor extension cord to bring the power out to there. Buy the 10 foot lengths needed of grey PVC electrical conduit pipes at Lowe's then glue and bury the pipes 6 inches deep with the extension cord inside. You can terminate the outlet end of the cord on a short length of pressure treated 2x4 with a bucket slung over it to keep out the weather. Buying and setting up an off-grid solar system is not easy if you are not familiar with doing that, also we get lots of cloudy & rainy days during the summer so you would have to buy a much bigger system than you are thinking to allow for the little or no power generation days especially on a little solar system. If the plants miss a few pump cycles the roots will dry and they will die very quickly. Lou

I love the Special K with redberries ! Will have to see how many carbs it has. I try to eat a smaller amount of carbs at breakfast than allowed on my plan as I see to do better. I ate half of the banana and seemed to be OK this time. Probably also depends upon what I eat with it. I need to buy more of those white cheddar rice cakes. I like them better than popcorn. Still all of the sugar free jello is my friend. Was going to buy some unflavored gelatin, but is so expensive. Maybe I can get bulk online cheaper. I spent so much at the store yesterday that I decided to wait on the unflavored gelatin. However, I did put in some kitchen towels and drinking glasses they had for a good price for Christmas gifts. I cooked my amount of pasta, still doesn't look like much, and the sauce has to be counted as carbs, too. Guess I will fill up on salad and beets. I made some raspberry vinagrette with the raspberry vinegar I made. I suppose blueberry vinegar would be good, too. I should make some. How do you all make your vinagrette from scratch? I just kept adding this and that. I hope it is good. I put in some celery seed,too, since I read it online from some chef. Will see how it tastes. The dilly bread is almost done baking. Smells nice in here. Oh, spoke too soon, the timer is going off now !

Cathy: When they mentioned " Colorful ", I think they were speaking of you, Not your Clothes. In think a lot of the women might need their Glasses adjusted. I looked in a mirror to see what they were talking about. Nothing resembles what they said about me. If I knew all this was to transpire, I could have met you 3 hours earlier. And we would have had at least 4 more pictures. David; You are right !!! I should have worn the bright Pink Bathrobe and zapped her. Funny when I came out of the Park-a-teria, I got on my cell phone and asked Cathy where she was. She said," I'm in front of Whole Food Market and I'm wearing a Bright Pink top, Where are you ???" I said look straight ahead about 20 feet. Didn't buy anything in Whole Foods, because I didn't need anything. We ate out a lot at my sister's place. I even talked my BIL into Mac Donald's for a $1 Mac Chicken. He never had one and couldn't believe what we got for $1. Even ordered some to go. That's it for now. Talk at you later. LOU

I should have looked back into the CF posts after I hit Submit. Didn't realize some of you snuck in a few more Posts. That's a good excuse isn't it ??? I didn't see Pinky's, Jim's, Chase's, Karen's, Mustangs, Teresa"s. Did I miss anyone ??? ********************************* Karen : I'm ready for you and Steve. Think I have enough credit on one of my Cards. Next time you make the Sinbuns !!! Jim: I went to the VA Hospital to see an Opthamologist and to get a Prescripition filled. Having a Service Related Disability, entitles me to a lot of benefits, which is a big help, financialy. I also brought with me , a load of Books and items, for the Veterans. I belong to Geisinger Health System also. That's where I had the Surgery done on my left leg; a couple of months ago, for the circulation problem. Have a lot of other perplexing physical problems but I try to put them out of my alleged mind. Like, maybe they will go away. They never do. They can't do nothing for the mental problems. I thought Karen and Steve could help ??? Thanks again everyone, Had a geat time, Saturday,. Cathy, not sure why Lou feels uncomfortable here, but I'm sad that he does feel that way. I hope we will see him around here again soon.

He was/is well liked around here... if he was feeling uncomfotable I wish he'd let us know in case it was something we could change. He was funny, had lots of advice, and had great pictures... his food looked homemade, but like it was being cooked in a restaurant kitchen.

I miss Lou also. I loved his food & tips. I also miss his carving & wildlife pictues. Hope he'll be back someday.

I have been asking aout Lou on WFD thread. I think Sol said he was away on vacation.
Sure hope he comes back...the birthday's aren't complete without him singing!!

I am one who always enjoyed Lou's presence. I have copy & pasted his hoagie making photos tutorial. I always read his posts to learn from his experience, and get a chuckle from his humor.

Well I've run out of it.

Oops never mind...I just remembered I'm going to Canada in a few days and will buy it there to bring back with me!
