About me: Houzz Contributor. I'm a board member for CMPBS.org, the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems in Austin, Texas, and on the advisory board for The Healthy House Institute. A longtime environmentalist, design junkie and yogi, I helped introduce mainstream America to green lifestyles and healthy homes with the launch of Natural Home magazine in 1999. My books, The Wabi-Sabi House and Simply Imperfect: Revisiting the Wabi-Sabi House, brought the Japanese concept of finding beauty in imperfection to Westerners. Seven Steps to a Safe, Nurturing Nursery, an e-book I co-authored with Dr. Frank Lipman, helps new parents keep toxic chemicals out of their babies’ bedrooms.
