Phrenzy Photos and Phacts phrom Philadelphia
Okay here's my version of the RTM get-together, along with the photos to prove it. We had a phantastic time.
Phirst, we all met up and our special guest Drew took our picture. I hope my mouth doesn't really look this phunny. That's Susie, Teresa, Pam, Alex (in her shades) and Ruthanna.
Here's Drew, our photographer, with Mom looking on. Good kid.
Susie and Drew buying -- something.
Amish man roasting peanuts. I bought some.
We were thinking of Annie and took this picture in her honor.
Outside there was a Bluegrass band playing. Alex got up and danced on top of a table (that's a lie).
Susie, Drew and Alexa shopped for organic goodies.
And they were filming some sort of show there, too.
LPink finally got there and we started chowing down.
Then we had a surprise guest! Can you tell who this well-dressed gentleman is? That's Susie with Ruthanna in the middle.
The was my favorite of all the food we bought. It's Teresa's Train Wreck sandwich. It had andouille sausage in it. I could go back for another right now.
Alexa needed a cold one, so she popped into the beer garden.
You're not supposed to bring your beer out of the beer garden, but when did rules ever stop Alex?
Remember that wooden dowel Lou said he'd give me for rolling out pastry? Here it is and here he is!
Time to go home. My train was 40 minutes late, so I cooled my heels in the station for awhile.
When I got home I took a good look at the gifts people brought even though I specifically said not to bring them! Glad they didn't listen to me. Lou brought the dowel, some fabulous homemade pizzelles and biscotti that we all shared, Alex gave us balsamic vinegar from a cute new shop called The Tubby Olive. Mine is pomegranate. Teresa brought bottles of G Three Steak Sauce that her nephew makes. I brought nothing. Here's my take:
Now I am going to put my feet up, eat the roasted peanuts I bought and watch the Phillies!
We really had a good time. CFers are such nice people. Teresa came all the way from North Carolina and her train was delayed so it took 11 hours! She is as sweet as can be so I'm glad she made the effort. Ruthanna was a real honey, too, and I was glad to meet her. And Lou surprised all of us -- his family was with them and they were very nice. If you are ever in Philadelphia, be sure to let us know so we can do it again.
I am sooo tired.
