I upgraded to a scooms down duvet, cured my allergies and never slept better. Also got pillows from the White Company

This is going to be a difficult talk with my kids when I tell them that I need to spend their college fund on my mattress, bed, pillows and paint. I’m glad that those with no budget considerations can sleep better.

I've been aware of these issues for over a decade. If you have an old mattress on your bed for over 5yrs, the toxicity is about nil by now. My strategy was to keep a mattress as long as possible and keep turning it to even out the wear.

I looking for duvets and sheets at the moment. I'm always looking for a sale on organic. Pottery Barn, a store I'm not in love with, does carry a lot of organic bedding and bath towels, and there are now labels that report on material that has been tested for over 100 different chemicals. One of the issues I've had is that when they ship material, especially overseas on ships, they spray those large containers for pesticides and everything reeks of it. Not quite sure we can get away from being poisoned by everything around us, but I'm always working at it.

Construction and Renovation is another area where it is a ton of work to try to find materials that aren't going to be toxic in your home.

The EWG dot org website - Environmental Working Group has a data base of products that reveal what is in them and if it is toxic and what kind of health problems they create.
